My DW has been on twice already today!! It's always on!

I wash everything in it... just to amuse myself... things such as.. my mooncup, cat and rabbit dishes, potties, ornaments from the fist tank, dustpan and brush, drawers and filters from the washing machines, all the cooker and fridge bits etc have all been in over the years(obvously with a rinse before hand and not with the cutlery/crockery)

Really? I don't fancy some of that in a dishwasher.

Better than having thrush and a smelly mooncup ;)

I rather like the utter OTT reaction.. but yeah.. stuff gets a wash and chucked in to sanitise.. I've had my crocs in there too ;) .. actually, I don't think my current one has had most of this stuff in, the old one definitely did.. I must be slacking!

I'd wash the children in there if I could.. 33 minute cycle, quicker than showering them!

Great for a giggle online, but can't help thinking of her when I watch some of these sub-prime benefits programmes. She really doesn't help herself, mores the pity.

Well, perhaps it is lazy but I can't see why you'd do either by hand when you have a machine that does it for you. Is there some kind of virtue involved in doing housework unnecessarily?
    .

Just find it hard to get my head round not using/buying something you might like (talking kitchen items) just because you'd have to run it under the rap rather than place it in the dishwasher!

Personally I enjoy washing up, I find it relaxing! Then again, I also don't mind housework!

Hey guys, I think you've both over (the relevant word escapes me right now - damn dementia) but essentially you're arguing over very little. Not wanting to wash up anything when you own a dishwasher is a given. Just chuck it all in and be fine with. General saucepans you'd cook porridge would be stuck in the dishwasher. I really can't see the argument or issue here.

If you enjoy washing up that's fine. Some of us detest it.

I've already said, I won't put non-stick or cast iron or stainless steel utensils that I've worked hard at building up a seasoned coating on in a dishwasher. It takes less than 30 seconds to wash these items in hot water alone after dishing up.

I think you've got confused about what I was saying, and totally missing the point I'm trying to make! Obviously if you've got a dishwasher then you're going to use it instead of hand washing, like you say that's a given, but that wasn't the original point.

    But you're right, it's not important! :p

Also, it's not an argument, it's debating!
