Lovely day yesterday. ‘Saw’ 2 friends from afar who dropped off eggs for smalls, we returned the favour by leaving them in the middle of the drive to be collected when we were back in the house.Lots of knitting, hoping to finish it today and cast on a new project. May attempt something ambitious 😯 Have supplies from last year so might as well as it won’t cost me anything.Had wild garlic in my veg box. Used some in curry I made and some of the rest went in wild garlic and cheese scones from the NT website. Halved the recipe (in the interest of flour preservation and waist line!) they are so good and would definitely recommend. They will be snacks today.Smallest small ate hm curry for the first time 😃
we started another craft box the smalls has been gifted. Had to make plaster of Paris shapes that set for 24 hours before part 2. So we did that and will do part 2 today. I can then liberate the oversized box out of the playroom! One of the smalls has had most fun decorating a huge box that something was delivered in a few weeks ago. In fact she’s spent the last 3 days sat in it rather than on the sofa 🤣
Other than crafting, today will feature an egg hunt (for paper eggs), FaceTime with grandparents and a roast dinner.Have misplaced my meal plan, will have a look for it and if I can’t find it write another. I mean, it can’t have gone far can it 😂
have done next months budget which I’ll finalise when we know whether lockdown will continue in to May and how far but it’s pleasing to have the base of it done.6 -
Must go and look for the wild garlic and cheese scones recipe now! I have wild garlic under the hedge in my little front garden - but am similarly watching both flour supplies and waistline!

You're so well organised and getting loads done.
I love my crochet too - it's really nice to have something to occupy me without having to think too much about it.

Scones sound fabulous. Will give them a try when my wild garlic shows itself.

@brizzlegirl not heard if those before, will look them up. Still need to make my coriander pesto 😊 from left over coriander. Did chop it ready. Will do tomorrow.Have cast on my ambitious project and done 2 rows. Hoping it gets easier or it'll be a loooong job! My cast on a pair of socks too so I can interchange as this project is definitely one that needs concentration. Feels good to try something different.Ordered a couple of items for the house to perk up a couple of rooms. All in budget. Not going to the sm is somewhat liberating. Just shows how easy it is to nip for something. And I thought we were good at meal planning and shopping to lists 😊 We've already talked about how we want to change things when lock down ends and not just about shopping at SM.Smalls were happy with a paper egg hunt that I found online. They really enjoyed it. No spend 👍
We had a few quiet days which have been lovely and much needed by all.4 -
Glad the kids were happy with the paper egg hunt. Calories saved too from the sound of itAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Entering 5th week of lockdown here today. Still have a long list of jobs, but slowly working through some of the more complex ones.Found my meal plan which saved me a job. Tweaked it based on a couple of items that came in veg box. Last night we had chorizo and broad bean risotto But omitted the bacon and put in less chorizo and it was still lovely. Used the last of the turkey stock I made a few weeks ago. Double prodded the broad beans, took ages but definitely worth it.Going to make a cake this morning and deliver it to a pal on our daily walk. Still working through list of jobs, on to the longer ones now!!
gave the washing machine a good clean this morning after dying a dress in there yesterday. Am paranoid that there will still be dye in there.
Lunch will be leftovers and use ups. Banking all checked no overpayments made but 1 company has e mailed to say they will refund a delivery charge due to a delay. So will OP that. Will also check cb sites.5 -
Pleased to report that the bright pick dye didn’t get on any other loads!Lovely veg box arrived this morning with a few ordered extra. A sign of things getting back to normal. Will tweak meal plan so nothing is wasted (still can’t pick veg but sooo grateful for what we have)
DH P P I was paid in to the bank today so I’ve shuffled to savings. Going to suggest he orders something for his business with part of it. Rest will stay in savings. Some more washing to peg out and seedlings to plant on today. Another craft set done by smalls yesterday. Will see if they want to do another today. Plus we’ll bake cookies (using some whites chocolate chips in use up
box)
will post a card whilst on daily walk. Have stamp. Need to wrap a gift that will need to go in the post. Will use recycled packaging I’ve saved.Made a PAD today. I can’t make any big OP at the moment due to DH having no income but a week away from my pay day rounding down the account seemed ok.2 -
Glad you are getting veg boxes. I bet your glad that you are a decent cook right around now. I can't imagine how those are coping who have never really done much cooking before.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
