Hope u have a good week. Agree with others to get a contribution from your colleague.
Tent sounds good..can you borrow camping stuff? Seems daft to buy your own. We always offer ours out as it's rarely used these days and we have stacks. No point in everyone having tonnes of stuff when one can share...sharing economy and all that!...MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

That's a good idea Brizzle, thanks. I am sure that if I ask around someone will have a camping stove with pans etc and a table. We also need a camping light but I am sure my Mum has one of those.
Need to go scrounging over half term to see what other people have we can borrow:cool:
Definitely canceling the holiday. A saving of £570 overall and I know that 4 nights on a campsite will not cost that much.:rotfl:"These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
And a unexpected trip to the vets with a poorly cat puts pay to at least £400. Can't leave her with an infected tooth and as she is old will need blood tests first to check her kidneys. Ah well, at least I have the money saved already."These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0

I made it to half term, broke up a day early as I am taking TOIL today.:j
Money has been a total disaster:mad:
£204 not to take the cat's tooth out as they said that she was too frail and her kidneys are not up to anesthetic. They are recommending all sorts of monitoring checks and follow up this and thats but basically it is not reversible. We have to look into feeding her a specialist low protein diet as her body is not processing her food correctly. She seems bright as a button though and she is around 19-20 years of age. We will look after her until we know that the time is right to say goodbye:(
£50 for a new tyre for Mr Light's car as he had a puncture:mad:
I am scared to look at my budget this month. Need to ring up to cancel holiday and shop around for breakdown cover."These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
Sorry to hear that the cat isn't doing too well. Sad times. But pleased that she's still pretty alert etc.Not giving up

May figures are in and they are not pretty. I seem to have lost the plot with the food budget!
Groceries - £327, over £100 more than was spent in April:eek: honestly, this is mental!!! In June I am going to separate this cost into actual food and other stuff spent in supermarkets to give me a clearer insight. Ironically we have almost zero food in the cupboards as I do not usually bulk buy. Maybe here lies the problem (more likely to be beer and wine though).
Going out/eating out £191:eek: again, mental. I am including Mr Light e-cig habit in this which is around £20 a month but still.
If we continue in this way we will not make our 4 year FIRE plans, end of story.
Savings for this month come in at £977 which is significantly lower than previous months. This brings me to 64% of my yearly target and 14% towards my overall target.
£2 survey grabbed this morning from PA but the overall message of the day is Must try harder!"These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
I'm off the starting blocks with £15 Gumtr££ sale. PA is up to £16.05 so I will withdraw once it gets to £20 which I will aim for in June.
I am setting myself a target of £200 in free money for June.
Just received an email in response to some online tuition that I enquired about which may bear fruit."These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
Another £20 sale pending collection.
£35 so far for the June pot"These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
June is off to a flying start
We are not yet half way through the year and your target is already at 64% so looks like you are on track there too!0 -
Thanks
The figures are a bit skewed in my favour as I had some initial savings at the start of the year towards my year 1 target. I need to save an average of £1400 a month from now to December.
Seeing as though we have no holidays planned apart from a 2 night break away with the boys (DS1 has said that he will pay his own way) the only other big expense for the year is DS2's 21st birthday in August."These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0
