I cannot work out the free bingo site for the life of me! Can I have another clue please? :D

I am enjoying your infectious enthusiasm, reminds me of SHS's diary, you must be distant relatives!

Cheers Edinburgher:beer: another clue:eek: You have to do this for your supper:D:rotfl:

I am not sure who SHS is but they sound great:cool:

Just hope I can maintain my enthusiasm for 4 years. However after the last 2 days of 14 hour marathons at work has spurred me on somewhat.

  • Your diary resonates with me as I'm currently aiming for FI and early retirement.

Love the idea of 'can't afford staff'! Will use that when I'm tempted to eat out/get takeaway when I'm tired.

Must confess I'm intrigued by the free bingo site but, like Edinburgher, need another clue.:o
  • It's only bladdy Friday:j

Mr Light is still snoozing in bed while I update the YNAB budget and check on our progress so far.

It has been a good month for free money from bingo/surveys/selling stuff and my No Spend Christmas fund is up to £238. I also have around £25 pending in various accounts so just over £100 to reach my target. If i can do this by July then I will start another pot for a No Spend holiday fund. Or maybe I can swap it to no spend holiday fund seeing as though I actually go on holiday in July. I'm confusing myself now.

I am definitely applying for the online tutor job, deadline is the 30th of this month. If I get it then it might be very handy for an easy bit of income once I am FIRE:D I have also been accepted to the final stage of the recruitment for exam marking and now have to do some sample marking to check that I can do it properly so just waiting for that to come through.

Definitely catching up with my boys this weekend on Skype, I do miss them so:(

  • Great day all round yesterday. Had a lovely long walk with Mr Light along a local walking route around where my family used to live where I grew up. I was delighted to find a walk information board with a picture of my Grandad on it from when he used to go walking with his pals. I remember my Mum telling me that he had his picture while out walking with his friends and that he was going to appear on a notice board along the walkway but I have never seen it. Made me a bit teary as it was badly damaged by local idiots but his picture was still clear. I am now on a mission to source the original.

My Grandad was more of a Dad to me and he sadly passed away 3 years ago. Still missed every day and I am thankful for the love of walking and simple things that he passed down. A daily walk with Grandad to see the horses in the field or down to the local beck was something I looked forward to daily as a child. Not on a Sunday though...........that was the boozer day for him:rotfl:

Today is almost a team reunion from my previous place of work as out to lunch (budget £10) with 2 of my ex work friends. This evening is a curry night (free) at another ex colleague's house. Happy (cheap) Saturday

  • Thought that seeing as though I am actually on the MFW board I should post about the mortgage situation. I have read many Savings V Paying off mortgage debates, here are my thoughts.

Our outstanding mortgage is £24,362.47 with a term remaining of 7 years 4 months (as of 31/03/16). Interest is currently 1.49% , last month's interest was £31.07.

Seeing as though the interest rate is so low I have decided to save in higher interest paying accounts with an aim to be Mortgage Neutral by the end of the year. I am currently receiving 5% interest on 2 x current accounts and also 6% in a regular saver. The rest of my funds are in Stocks and Shares isa low cost tracker and funds.

I think that I am not crazy desperate to pay off the mortgage while I can still get these type of returns on my savings but like the thought that if I wanted to pay it all off I could and will if the interest rates change for the worse.

I think you're completely right. Being mortgage neutral is a wonderful thing to aim for. Having the choice to do so but being able to make more money elsewhere - excellent :j.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • Happy Monday everyone, hope you are all being fabulous:j

Great weekend with friends and I got to speak to both of my boys :A Yesterday was a bit up and down and My Light and I bickered for most of the day, probably due to him being as rough as toast from Saturday night. We ended up in a Thai restaurant last night and spent £30:mad: _____________ line drawn

Anyway, normality is resumed with a fresh week ahead.
