Lately it looks like half of my office is changing job/retiring...so I had leaving drinks yesterday and I'll have another one today oh, and tomorrow it's my leaving do (although I'm just leaving for a few months), so I guess I won't see a NSD till Sunday
Well done everybody else for the whooping NSDs total
Yasmin - I see the dreaded "glossy mag" has struck again.....they look so inviting on the front cover, but when you start to read them, and turn over countless pages of adverts, you get the feeling that someone has shoved a whacking great pie in your face.....and charged you for the privilege! Well done on your 5 NSDs, anyway!
Nargleblast - just wanted to say a huge thank-you for this thread. You have no idea how much it keeps me on the straight and narrow and I really appreciate that you take the time to read and update. :T Yes, glossy mags are definitely my downfall but honestly before my LBM I would think nothing of spending £10-15 each time I would go to the newsagent. My crazy thinking was I am spending my money on reading so it can't be all that bad.. Yes, crazy I know. :rotfl: I daren't even try to think about the money that I have literally thrown away:o
Well, I am declaring another NSD but it's unintentional. I finished work in the early hours of this morning and still in bed. Too tired too do anything constructive so going to have a lazy day at home. Will do my food shopping tmrw. So that's 6 NSDs so far

Gemgem - number 5 NSD noted, well done! Good idea re using half the box of hair colour, the important thing, as I am sure you know, is to leave the other half unmixed and only mix the components together when you are ready to use it.
Aliliva - roll on Sunday for a NSD, and the start of some welcome time away from work.
MrsC...tobe - number 1 NSD in the bag! When planning your big shop, try looking at what you have in stock already that you can use in meals. (Sorry if that sounds like the bleeding obvious, you never know just how far someone is down the MSE road!)
yasmin2 - thank you for your kind words, I couldn't just let a good thread die for want of someone to start the new month!
Just a thought - if you regularly chucked £10-£15 away on random nonsense like magazines, how about diverting a similar sum into a household emergency fund, rather than let that money be swallowed up by something else?
Now here's a little bargain for you all......occasionally I do an Approved Foods order, and this time there was a pack of six Loyd Grossman sauces (beef Provençal variety) for a quid. You just pour it over your meat and cook it. Each sachet makes enough for two people, so seeing as three of us were eating I used two sachets and cooked the stew in the slow cooker. Cost of the two sachets - one third of a quid = 33 pence.
When I saw the same sachets in Mr T E S Cohen's food emporium yesterday, for £2.49 EACH SACHET......!?!**!#?*!
Just ate my lovely scrumptious Quinoa salad and am now a satisfied lady. I'm happy that my tummy is full and I'm happy that I'm using up the veggies I bought! That feels so good. No waste day!!
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Really must get more prepared for lunches and actually do a full shop as I need to go to the garage for something to eat again today
