We have a holiday booked 2 x double rooms, all paid in full.
It turns out one of the party may not be able to go due to work commitments.
The Travel agent has said that there will be a fee to pay even though the holiday is paid in full.
Can any-one tell me is this correct?
Surely if its all paid for, what difference is it to them?

I suppose they are going to argue that if there is only one person, there is a single room supplement to pay.If the person cancelling could make a claim on an insurance policy, and I suspect they can't if it is work related, then I could possibly justify the single supplement but in this case it may well be best not to cancel the person from the booking at all and avoid any supplement.0

Thanks for the reply, but how can there be a single room supplement when the holiday is paid for in full? He is not getting or trying to claim any money back.
So in effect they are demanding double payment!?
We are considering not notifying them at all and just being a no show.
However this seems ridiculous as they could actually resell the flight.0 -

How much of a fee? - are they talking about a fee to "amend the booking" because one person's name is coming off it?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Just be a no show, no point telling themtravelover0

That's what I would vote, just go without the person the travel agent doesn't need to know0

Who is the lead name on the bookingVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0

Its a 4 day break costing 360 per person.
They are then wanting to charge another 108 each for the remaining 3 = £324
They will have lost nothing and could potentially gain from reselling the flight, but they cant understand why we are objecting!
And that does at the minute seem the best option , to be a no show, but it seems ridiculous!0 -

i am confused
originally £360 per person and if one cancels it is £468 per person?.
That may make some kind of sense if they are refunding one of the original £360. if not just dont tell them0 -
you could get lucky with a get out - check the flight times on your original booking verses the actual flight times on your tickets. If they have changed anything, outbound or return tell them that's why person can't make it. The times you booked and agreed were fine, now they have changed them your friend can't make it and in fact the changes they are making are spoiling your break as you wanted to go as a foursome. Slight changes to flight times are really common.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0
