Hello all
Hope it's not too late to officially join this month's challenge?! I definitely need to keep an eye on this thread for motivation as I've been AWOL from here for far too long and the spending has started going crazy again. The last time I did the grocery challenge was November 2014 and my budget then was £100 per month/4 weeks and that was to cover my food and drinks for home/work, toiletries, household cleaning stuff, and food and litter for 1 cat. I also include any takeaways or eating out that I do if I'm doing it just because I can't be bothered to cook, but actual occasions come out of the 'fun' budget.
So, I'm going to stick to the same as before and declare £100 for April starting yesterday on Monday 4th April and finishing on Sunday 1st May.
The freezer and cupboards are full to bursting thanks to so much overspending, but that overspending has also ended up in plenty of money literally going right in the bin. I'm ashamed to say I just threw away about £10 worth of fresh fruit, veg, meat, bread etc and this definitely has to stop! Both a waste of money and a waste of food
However, rather than focusing on how much may have gone in the bin, I'm going to think positively and change my bad habits (again!!) and hopefully that money will be going towards paying off my debts instead
Yesterday and today were both NSD's but I'm almost out of cat food and have absolutely no fresh food so I will have to go shopping tomorrow for a few bits. I've noticed when I do a big weekly shop I end up binning lots of food that's gone off so I'm going to just buy a few bits when I need them (with a list!!!!!) which will also save me the taxi fare home as I'll be able to walk instead :j
Think that's it for now apart from saying thanks to all the lovely people that keep this thread running and to everyone else for the continued support and motivation you all provide :ADFW Nerd 145

Good luck with the GC challenge and if you want to know anything please just ask - the only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask
Managed another NSD here today :j
We had sweet and sour chicken (freezer) and veggie rice today.
Will have salmon fillets (freezer) with steamed asparagus, snap peas and carrot batons served with potato croquettes and hollandaise sauce the morrow. Looking forward to that already :rotfl:

Another £10.50 added to total - I stocked up on my fave coffee, which was half price. If I can only spend £10 in the next week, then I will have reached the half way mark. Really must try and meal plan today.0
