Just a quick update. Spent £4.30, once again on stuff not really needed. A sandwich when out and some alcohol. Oh well. Have updated signature. Need to buy some stock cubes, to make up a ton of soup from the Aldi veg I bought and a little bit of salad stuff and that is all that is needed.0

Evening all
Shopping today was Morrys = £12.99 and Al*i = £14.14, so added £27.13 to my total so far for April.
I have made my monthly menu plan for April and have most of it in store/freezer apart from weekly milk, fruit, veggies and pack-ups. Plenty in the bulk buy fund if I manage to get to the butchers so fingers xd will be okay again this month.
Hope you all have a marvellous Monday

Well joining this thread again has opened a whole can of worms that I hadn't expected.
On the plus side my main shop this week at ald! came in under £35 and I cant remember the last time i walked out of that shop without spending at least £80 sometimes up to £130 on a weekly basis (plus many extra mid week mini shops). We have however spent £6 at the pound shop on wash powder and gluten free pasta and approx £10 in Tesco's. Overall though pretty good going for a weeks shopping. So approx £51 spent so far and nothing on the shopping list apart from bread flour, which can wait as we have bread in.
The following is off topic so I apologize in advance.
As you do when browsing these forums I started to look at other threads, this lead to me starting to sort out the wardrobes and bag up for e-bay/ car boot/ rag man. 6 bin liners sorted for e bay/car boot and 3 for the rag man and I still have the storage cupboards to go through!
On top of this, I have also started to consider, after a few years of being debt free, of taking on more debt . I have decided to look into buying the house that we are currently renting. Bit of a light bulb moment in realizing that the mortgage payments would be way less than the rent each month and I know the offer is there to buy. Fingers crossed!Grocery Challenge Sept 2021 £95.40/£500

Hi
£80 at Aldi £20 at B&Q. Not dreadful I suppose.
All stocked up for us.
Poorly chock though so will need some melds for her poor girl. Thought she was egg bound but now suspect bumble foot. Just shows I can't tell my a?@e from my elbow most of the time!
Keep safe and warm

Count me as scr%#*d and tattooed! This is day 3 of 30 days and I have spent 222/450$.
Ok, my husband is going on his spring fishing trip and a chunk of that total is a lot of beer for the trip plus disposable paper plates, plastic bowls etc. and his food. The thing is, this year I don't have a vacation fund like I normally do, so this has to come out of food shopping. I overspent at Christmas and still owe on one CC. That's where the vacation money has gone. That's why it's important to do this challenge successfully.
Can I make it the rest of April on what I have left to spend? I really want to stay within my budget, so I will be searching out low cost meals and staying with Missymoo's thread of cooking out of the freezer and pantry. I'm thinking of getting the money out in cash and putting it in an envelope to further incentivize myself. This could get really interesting!Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Day four of April and no shopping to get today I am at DDs looking after my three grandsons whilst they are on holiday and the boys luckily detest shopping as much as I do:0 this morning I shall be looking after the youngest one the most as he wasn't feeling too well last night (I go to Sunday dinner every sunday night there)He's got a sore throat and is feeling a bit sorry for himself. He rarely is ever ill so I shall be giving him lots of TLC and fussing this morning This afternoon I have to take the middle boy Henry to the orthodontists. No food shops nearby to tempt me.I have got a chicken breast out of the freezer for my dinner tonight which i will have with some steamed brocolli.Tomorrow I have a hairdressing appointment for a trim and that too is nowhere near a food shop and on Wednesday I am out all day in London with my DD having my 'posh afternoon tea' at the Waldorf (my birthday treat from February) so probably the earliest I may get to a shop will be Thursday so my food purse will be firmly shut for several days .I really don't need a great deal as I am away at the end of next week for a spring break with my friend in Staffordshire, so I am trying to use up as much of the fresh stuff in the fridge as possible.
DD gave me a four pack of yogurts last night to bring home for a treat so they will help with puddings this week along with my cut price packet stuff in the cupboards. All in all I am hoping for a good month budget wise this month with as little outlay as I can:):)

I had a great weekend...which means my budget for April is already compromised! In just three days I managed to spend £28.30 mainly in coffees and take away!
And the scary part is the amount I spent in restaurants and pubs: a wooping £60! I know, this one doesn't count for the challenge...but it's still almost one third of my whole entertainment budgetGC £~~/3000 -
