Redundancy is looming for the OH so am re-joining this challenge. I've been overspending big time and need to reign it in to try and save some money. Doing a meal plan for all the bits that we currently have in to keep the shopping down a bit. Have drawn out the money budgeted for the month and split it into envelopes for the next few weeks until next pay day. DDs birthday is looming at the end of the month so am hoping that any savings I make on the grocery budget can go towards her doing something (cinema is soooo expensive lately!).2 adults and 3 children DD (14), DD (12) & DS (10) :smileyhea and 2 mental beagles.

OK. I have a new app on my phone - flylady lists and a section for freezer, storecupboard items, and shopping lists.
I'm saying s*d it to the gym this evening, I'm going to list everything I have and then look at my menu plans. And amend my Mr T delivery for tomorrow accordingly.

Struggled to resist old habit of popping into shops on the way back from work
So I took £2 cash and spent exactly £2 cash.
- big bag plain flour
- peaches in juice - these will go with a crumble topping I have in the cupboard
- load of bread breakfast PB on toast (also I have half a jar of dark choc spread which is lovely on toast!)
- 3 x YS packs of sliced peppers.
I have a lentil dhal on the stove just now - the challenge is to make it small enough that I will eat it all before I get tired of it, so just half a cup of lentils in! And also some random grain cooking in the wonderbag - I think it's wheat - which I will add sweetcorn, kidney beans and peppers to for a nice lunch salad.
I also have a chopped salad to use up before Thursday is out.
What I dislike about this challenge is that I love, love, love cooking and I have to just cook enough for me to get through! My freezer is already stuffed with sausage casseroles and chillies and curries. I am wondering if I find the cooking more soothing than the shopping?
I expect I will know by the end of the month.2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000 -
