Just a quick one before I start the day. It's been pelting down here last night and the wind was awful. I'll go down and see how our veggies fared shortly. Wind still strong. The guy who lost his verandah came over on the weekend to make repairs. Hope he doesn't lose it again. :D

Churchmouse Have a lovely holiday in Canada & we expect lots of pictures and gossip. ;) I hear you & Kyle are having a bet to see how many calories you burn up the most on the flight. My money's on you girl. :D Don't let me down. Kyle has a bad back.

Hope all you night owls get a good night sleep. Byeeeeeeeeeee

P.S. Wanted to say, Aussielass, I love your signature...so much so, that I have adopted it as a bit of a catchphrase...I hope you don't mind!:A

I was recently diagnosed with something which could have been a lot more serious than it turned out to be... My "catchphrase" throughout this became "I'm not dead yet!" :p - apologies to those who find this flippant, but this was how I felt most able to deal with the circumstances, particularly when my father was diagnosed with a similarly serious illness (he adopted the same catchphrase!). Since reading Aussielass's footer, we have both adopted her phrase, and it always makes people smile, which in turn makes us smile... ;) :rotfl: :D

    Winners all round, I think?!:p

smokybabe, hugs for you....I can't believe that they've sent your dh home again.
Churchmouse, have a wonderful holiday..Canada is somewhere I'd love to go. We'll miss you while you're away.
Aussie.....well what can I say! It's sunny and warm here! Not a drop of rain or a breath of wind at all! :p I just hope the promised plague of locusts doesn't descend anytime soon. :D

Today went well, I managed my four fifteen minutes decluttering and got rid of lots of things but it's just made me realise how much more I need to clear. Work was a pain tonight....I work alone and they sent me to a patient who needed two (at the very least) to manoever him into bed.

Is it just me or is anyone else sick of backing books? It's ok with the ones I can use wrapping paper for, I can just about handle those, but the clear sticky back plastic stuff for textbooks is a nightmare.....I'm covered in bits of it and there are more bits of it all over the kitchen!

    Sleep well all,

    Hi Pink-winged!

Do you have to back the books in sticky-backed plastic? When I was at school (admittedly, it was a while ago - I took my A-levels in 1991!), all my books were covered in a cheap roll of wallpaper. At the time, I thought my parents were being cheap (which they might have been...!:rotfl:) but it did mean I could identify all my books easily - they all looked the same and I learnt to identify them by size/shape!! It was actually much easier to have them all covered in the same paper...not that I would admit that at the time if pushed...!!:p

In spite of all my books being covered in bargain basement wallpaper, I still passed my exams and got my place at university!!

    Hi piglet,

Yep the text books for ds1 have to be backed in clear plastic......I spent the time since I got in from work tying myself in knots with it. It's stuck to every damn surface in the kitchen exept the blinking books :(

Thankfully for the little one I was able to buy a value roll of blue shiny paper from a local shop for 99p for 4 metres....hopefully I'll be able to deal with the cellotape to cover his books! :o

Glad you passed your exams despite how your books were backed! ;):D There's hope for my lot yet! ;) I did my A levels in 1981....that makes me feel like a geriatric compared to you! :D

Piglet They reckon the most sincerest form of flattery is to copy :D Glad you liked it as much as me. So happy for you that your illness wasn't as serious as first thought.

Pink No damage done. :p Looooooooking good. I do agree about the geriatric bit. ;)
Csarina  :D Your not as old as Twink though. She'll be 70 soon. :rotfl:
