Morning to you all - abetter nights sleep last night.

Special thoughts to all those starting a new adventure today-- no matter where.

Frogga and friends -- You CAN do it- hope all is going well

Hester - hope you have a brilliant day today or at least not so much hastle.

Only a quickie today as I have got to go off and pick my sister in law up from the airport.

Very different but nice having OH around the place. So much to do!!!

On Os theme made more stewed blackberries and apples for the freezer yesterday- completely free as I never add sugar as we like it tart.

We are having a complete storecupboard challenge. Just literally taking 2 or 3 ingredients out of the cupboards or freezer and finding a recipe or going on line ( Delia on line is good- we had spaghetti putesnesca last night - delish)

This is made even better for me because Oh says its his turn to cook after me doing it for 30 years!!!!! I am NOT complaining.

Oh and he likes stardrops!!! He came down this morning and said this lidls spray is good and it was the bottle I had made up from you lovely peoples recipe.

    So another convert.

Right must go. Congratulations to asll those celebrating and gentle thoughts to all those who need them
Try and do a good deed every day.

    Good morning everyone,

My 2 arnt back at school until Thursday, so i have a full house here today, as i have my normal ones, plus my friends children (4 extra!!!) But should be ok, as i will send the boys outside to play football, and climb trees!!!

Bad nights sleep, and then DD came in at 4 - so still not 100% with it, although i do have ther SC on with a nice lamb stew, and i put the BM going at 7 this morning. Just about to get the WM on, will be leaving any cleaning until this afternoon, with so many children in the house, no point in trying to clean it!!

((HUGS)) to anyone who wants or needs one, hope everyone has a lovley day, and all those who have gone back to, and are starting school have a lovely time.

    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  • Good morning chums ,
not a good night last night ,but read a lot which means it wasn't wasted.:D
I am typing with one finger of left hand as right arm is very stiff and will not cooperate this morning.
I have a huge pile of ironing that I must tackle today as well. That will be fun as I am extremely right-handed and ironing with my left-hand is going to be a bit of a b***er but hey I'm a determined old soul if nothing else.:rotfl:
At least I can watch catch-up tv on my cable and see some of the programmes that I missed last week whilst on my hols.
I have a list of to-do thing that I must try and get through today, including a list of returning phone calls from folk who rang whilst I was away, answerphones make me feel so guilty if I don't return peoples calls.

One of my DGS starts at his new grammar school this morning, and my youngest DD said she will drop in for a coffee after she has taken him into school. She is more nervous than Ben is ,he is cool as a cucumber about it all.

Mrs Mix, I adopted Nelski last year but at the time she did have a nice bottle of wine in her hand so that may have swayed my decision a tad:rotfl: :rotfl:

Amie99 if you really must you can have a lusty dream about Bradd Pitt but don't forget whom he belongs to, ME:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: so it's only a loan:rotfl:

Just looked out of the window and it seems like a nice autumnal day bright ,but not too warm with just that hint of oncoming winter. My last lot of washing is on the line already and blowing away quite well.

It seems strange that I will have no Uni work this year owing to this blessed disease, but roll on next year. I am usually rushing around the shops getting folders and A4 paper at this time of the year, and here I am sitting around doing very little ,I can see me getting to be quite grumpy in the near future as I enjoy my adult-ed and the comaraderie of the other youngsters there.
Yesterday I read one of the forum members worrying about being the oldest in her class, well I was definitely the oldest in my class as I'm the wrong side of 60 and most of the other students were young enough to be my grandchildren. But they were really lovely and were quite tickled to have an old dear alongside of them:D

Well I think thats about all for this morning as its taken me about half an hour to type this so <<hugs >> to those in need and I hope the rest of you have a great day :D

    Morning All,

Gosh you're all up and bouncy! Not like me :( I was in that "semi-asleep" state around 3am when cat yowls started outside. Echo-cat burst in through the cat flap so I had to go investigate (She looked SO grumpy when I turned the light on!). Bailey-cat was facing off against Mr Humpreys, an aged-ginger tom from 3 doors away. I think Mr H was probably trying to visit for food (that's all he thinks about!). Can't be too upset with him as he used to live next door in his younger days, well before our crew were born, so he obviously believes he owns the joint.

Anyway talking to them split them up but I was awake then, so had coffee and watched a video! Back to bed, until 20yr cat yelled in my face at 8am.

No aches from walk yesterday :) Plans to paint bedroom today (where have I heard that before  ) even though it's sunny outside. OH working from home tomorrow so must tidy up. Dinner a mix of 3 left-over curries & rice!

Have a good one. Hope all the little one's school days are fun.

Oh did I mention the frog in the house? He jumped and made Echo jump ! So funny. Finlay-kitten bemused...Lucky frog saved before any biting started!

    Morning all,

Dlb, you’ll miss them but I hope you enjoy your first day home alone.
Crazychick, welcome back, glad you had a great time.
Smokybabe, thinking of you and your dh, at least something is being done now.
Thriftmonster, how did the bus journey go for your ds? Your post brought back memories of when I first had to put my ds1 onto a bus to the centre of Belfast for a dummy school run. I felt sick with worry but he took it all in his stride and now he’s 13 he could easily catch a bus to anywhere.
Good luck to everyone with children going back to school today.

Visit to the fracture clinic with ds2 yesterday was a waste of time...a two hour wait just to be told that they would rather he had a few more weeks to make sure that his bones are completely healed so he has another appointment in four weeks time. If they’re happy then, he will go for an operation to remove the pins the following day. I'm dreading it and just wish it could be me and not him.

I gave the house a good going through yesterday, but there is a lot more to do after the kids being at home all summer. I need to do a complete [STRIKE]spring[/STRIKE] autumn clean really. I hate housework at the best of times and I could hoard for Ireland so I’ve set myself a goal of four 15 minute bursts of de-cluttering every day. I’m going to have a look at the fly-lady thread and arm myself with some bags and boxes to get rid of things I’ve been hanging onto ‘just in case’. Wish me luck!

The sun is shining this morning and the grass is dry enough to cut so that will be my first job today and if it keeps fine I’ll spend some more time tidying the garden…anything to get me out of the housework! :o;)

I’m working again this evening so I need to go and have a look in the freezer to see if I can find inspiration for what to do for tea….hopefully I’ll find something quick and easy.

Take care everyone and I hope you all have a good day.

  • Hi there folks
I must be the most last-minute Mum on MSE. I have just come back from getting DS his school trousers and a haircut and he starts school in an hour! Both mine start late today to give the first years time to settle. This is the last back to school for DS as he is now in Yr 11. I am not looking forward to it as with GCSEs looming and DS having dyspraxia and finding all aspects of school very difficult I can see a lot of stress ahead- still, if we can hang on just 1 more year we will have made it.

Good luck to all those with kids starting at new schools and to those on Froggas challenge. I am off to despised Trafford centre to pick up white skinny jeans ordered for DD last week.
    Love to all DeeDee xxxx
