Indyref2 will come quickly.
Yes vote this time.0 -
Nicola Sturgeon sounded very statesmanlike earlier today.
She made it pretty clear there is going to be another referendum. I highly doubt that the answer will be No this time.
I wish I could declare independence from Leave voters too.0 -

If it weren't for the weather.... but yes that had occurred to me. I imagine I'm not the only one either.
I do not want to live in some kind of off shore Tory fiefdom.0 -
If they offered Scotland another IndyRef then how could they not offer N. Ireland the same?
They also voted to Remain.
That would be a referendum for a united Ireland, which would be a great idea if it could be done without loyalists paramilitaries resorting to civil war to prevent it.0 -

Don't forget the midges.
Dumfries and Galloway is very nice and is out of the midge zone, and is where my wife originates from.
Maybe the Tory free Cambridge City Council could negotiate to join Scotland and I can stay in the warmer dryer south.0 -
I feel that in many areas Brexit/Bremain was a side issue, this was IndyRef 1.5.0

Well !
Thursday night was like watching a slow and painful car crash in action for Remain. I was all set for bed at 12.30 when the Newcastle vote came in... I ended up going to bed at 5. I couldn't believe what I was watching. Now it's like everyone on the Leave side have disappeared, and Cameron has washed his hands of the whole thing. Sturgeon at least came out of Bute house and laid her cards on the table very clearly. So at least we know where we stand there.
I agree with Leanne, while the thought of another referendum soon after the EU one had me groaning in horror at the thought of it. I don't think we really expected Leave to win. Now that they have, it's changed things. You can tell the indy ref 2 bandwagon, rather than creaking out of the gates for a 'Summer of persuasion' as it was going to.... has roared out instead after Thursday in full bring it on mode and is in 3rd gear already. I also never thought I'd see the day the Daily Record and the Herald would both be front and centre backing Sturgeon to the hilt.
It also should be noted for all the 'Spain will veto Scotland' type arguments that in this case, The Scottish Govt is trying to find a way to keep her citizens in the EU. Not applying to join.
Still, caution needed and cool heads. I'm still not convinced that Boris Johnson or whoever wins the Tory leadership, won't perhaps try calling a General Election soon in order to secure what he/she will say is a fresh mandate from the UK... but will in actual fact be a second de facto EU referendum with individual MP's promising to either 'invoke Article 50' or 'I promise NOT to invoke Article 50' in their constituencies.
I think the above is a slim but very possible chance especially if the UK looks like it's going to take a serious hit economically over the next few months. I'm not sure they'd dare though. So who knows. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

Forget everything I said about Scottish Independence before. Take it and run. Even if oil was $1 a barrel anything would be better than sharing a country with these right wing delusional UKIP twits.
I was also up all night. I gave up hope when the gap was 500,000.
The Leave people are all absent because they have no idea what they are supposed to do.
I agree that half of them will be desperately trying to think of a way not to leave, but it won't not happen now. It's too late and the EU are too scared of Britain hanging on and wrecking things.
Scotland would be welcomed with open arms regardless of Spain.0
