Also goes a long way to explain the divergence of views and impact on local communities. Schools, Doctors, Hospitals, Housing, Social Services, Crime, Drugs, Prostitution, Guns, Gangs, Violence. Issues which are prevalent here. The debate isn't just about trade but quality of life. Also retaining culture and identity.
You have just pointed out why we need an independent Scotland. With the UK out of the EU, Scotland could gain more of the required immigration needed in Scotland. If we remain then we cut off that current 9k PA and there would probably be a steady stream of people migrating South.
I'm afraid you're not thinking of Scotland's best interests.0 -
You have just pointed out why we need an independent Scotland. .
Indeed.
Scotland needs to vastly loosen our immigration policy for people outside the EU - and continue to take all we can get from free movement within the EU.
With the rUK gone from the EU that will be one less competitor for the vital human capital we require urgently.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Scotland would aim to be in the EU in some way or another as quickly as possible so we would be getting the same deal as the EU as part of the EU. You have gone on to say you are looking for the best deal you can achieve with the EU so you are looking for that deal with Scotland too.
...
Assuming that you held an advisory referendum next Autumn,
AND
Assuming that the independence argument won it
then
you will still need 18 months to complete the split...by which time A50 will have concluded.
When you split the UK will be out of the EU. Any talk of being part of the EU at that point is erroneous.
The SNP timing is poor, to put it mildly.0 -

Fine.
At least we'll be rid of the cause of that catastrophe - and can set about rejoining the EEA or EU asap.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Fixed that for you
Immigration is not a problem. There are just as many, if not more, people willing to come here from all parts of the world.0 -

What's the attraction of an iScotland as a destination for economic migrants. That doesn't already exist. Won't be enhanced by the flood that may follow independence.0 -

That would depend on the speed and attitude of EU negotiations in the 18 months post the argument won.
We're not thinking anything is going to be easy but we need to start working in the right direction. The alternative is to cut the 9k immigration, increase tariffs while credited with a large deficit from the Westminster accountants who will be trying to cut the block payment at the same time.
You're favoring the alternative I presume!0 -

Ok....

I'm not sure. Ask the 9000 that come every year!
Anyone can see how that figure could increase if the UK was out of the available places they could migrate to.0 -
