Still do after today?
Vile.
Andrew Neil though. His emotive and unsubstantiated language to describe Holyrood this afternoon 'refusing' to stop the debate and then 'bowing to pressure' when Holyrood was suspended a few minutes later was shocking. It's the Presiding Officer who decides when to suspend debate and while he was outside getting briefed and updated about the situation the debate carried on in the interim. As did the Welsh parliament in session.
His timeline afterwards is tweet after tweet of bile from people who now think the SNP and Nicola Sturgeon ( who was also outside the chamber by now ) were refusing to stop the debate. I hope he was happy with his 100's of responses and the unnecessary anger he provoked when he should've been thinking of other things rather than scoring political points at a time like this.
It's not only anonymous tweeters that can be vile at times Tricky. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
Twitter is so immediate and people get so whipped up, there were some horrible posts today about Parliament being suspended. Horrendous when most normal people would be thinking solely of the people caught up in the violence, not thinking of how to make political capital out of it. It is a tricky decision to make as you want to show respect but not let the terrorists disrupt life.0

Is a fine balance. I'm glad they suspended the debate, it was absolutely the right thing to do in my view. But then you have others from all sides including folks like Tim Montgomerie who definitely weren't sure, nor about Neil's emotive tweets today.Tim Montgomerie Ù†â€Verified account @montie 4h4 hours ago

There's a case for pausing to reflect on the tragedy but also for democracy continuing. Let's not go 100mph on outrage at time like thisIt all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Have to admit Wings was disgusting on twitter today, so glad I'm on his block list0

Andrew Neill never mentioned the SNP once and there was as many SNP supporters who took unnecessary umbrage as there were others who blamed the SNP for the delayed suspension.
Your usual one eyed reporting Shakey.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

Neil tweeted prematurely using language that wasn't merited since he had no idea what was going on at the time in Holyrood. He didn't mention the SNP, but the comments underneath his tweet certainly did. He caused massive unnecessary anger and outrage that wasn't warranted against Holyrood/The SNP/Sturgeon/Linda Fabiani today.. at a time when it was appropriate to be thinking about far more important things than what was going on in Holyrood ! He must've forgot that folks at Holyrood, especially within the SNP these days have friends, family, colleagues and employee's who also work at Westminster.
Vile. One eyed reporting from an experienced journalist and BBC presenter who should definitely know better in times like this about stirring up anger. Am not going to engage on this particular issue anymore. Neil made a total a**e of himself today with his tweets about Holyrood. He'll never admit it, but we all know it.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
