The simple reply is 'you've made up a scenario that may never ever happen. You are in danger of going down the elantan route and making stuff up.0 -
Can read it here. Liked the inclusiveness.

I particularly liked her warning to the EU and their negotiators."The Prime Minister's attitude should worry all of us hoping that negotiations with Europe will not be a disaster because - and let me put this bluntly - if she shows the same condescension and inflexibility, the same tin ear, to other EU countries as she has to Scotland then the Brexit process will hit the rocks,"It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

No it won't.
The dawning of her political death; Nicola Sturgeon has made a very big mistake, over indyref 2 and it's just beginning to dawn on her, there is no possible chance that she can keep political momentum going for the next four years, people of Scotland are sick to death of the SNP talking non stop about independence, they want a government in power who are willing to do the ‘day job’, is this the start of the end of the SNP as a political party?0 -
Standing ovations as dictated....nothing new or nothing gained to be honest.0

Sturgeon can sit back for a bit after next weeks referendum bill seeking a section 30 is voted through.. and then let Brexit do the heavy lifting for a while. Then we can all see where those polls for and against another referendum are in the next 6 months. Also see if May really does have the backbone needed to block a section 30 outright rather than just issue inane and ridiculous tests and delay mechanisms via Davidson. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

She's manoeuvred herself into living her worst nightmare - being forced through misjudged hubris to hold the referendum she always thought she could threaten but never need. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I seem to have missed where opinion polling took precedence over election results on mandates. In any case :-It is the apparent lack of enthusiasm for a second referendum amongst some supporters that is the main reason why opponents of an early second ballot are apparently in the majority. But that does not mean that most voters think that another ballot should not be held for "another generation".
Polling conducted by Panelbase for The Sunday Times has found that half of voters either think a referendum should be held during the Brexit negotiations (as the first minister appears to have in mind) or that one should be held once the negotiations have been concluded (that is, just a little later than Ms Sturgeon's proposed timetable). They counterbalance exactly the other half of Scotland which says that a poll should not be held at any point within the next few years.
So this polling suggests that Scotland is evenly divided on the principle of having a relatively early second ballot. In short, both sides in the debate about whether a second referendum should be held can find polling evidence that seemingly bolsters their case.
