Then why did you post that drivel if you're educated about oil :undecided
You will also know oil was never quoted as being the salvation but the cherry on top.
Sounds just like a Kellyanne Conway alternative fact.

I should probably stay because this is a thread about Scottish independence as I'm Scottish and have a vote so the content (except the spam) is relevant to me.0 -
When you see the tone of some of the comments on here you do see why some people from Scotland might want to leave the UK !
Economically I still don't think there is a strong case for Scotland to leave the union, then again the same applied to the UK leaving the EU but sometimes emotional arguments win out.0 -

Be interesting to see the economic case this time around...... Though I suspect it'll be based on fears of a "hard brexit" rather than tangible facts.0 -

The position Scotland is in means it makes no sense, it's not comparable to Brexit politically either. They will be asking the Scottish people to adopt the EU side of the deal without having any input into it at all, asking them to vote for independence to rejoin the EU.
No doubt they will spin what they perceive as a bad deal for the UK in a good light in terms of voting for independence, purposely failing to mention that they will be bound by it from the EU side affecting 64% of their exports. Canny it is not.
Conversely if it's a good deal for the UK then Scotland is merely voting to suffer needlessly should they vote for independence. Voting for independence seems to me to be a no win situation economically, and one which politically will have rebuke in store for those who brought it to fruition. The politicians appear to be of such low stock that they may even end up performing a u-turn after actually voting for and achieving independence.
When your finance secretary drops the ball like this, who knows where they're going to end up, if I was Scottish I would be seriously worried by what the SNP and their deluded friends are doing to the country.
Edit: If you're against the SNP and friends you really need to get up off your backside and kick the SNP and friends into touch for good.0 -

ooh.
http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/15153449.Analysis__Nicola_Sturgeon_at_Bute_House/?ref=arcThe recent confirmation by Andrew Wilson, chair of the SNP’s Growth Commission, that oil revenue is now assumed to be zero after independence, means the country could start life outside the UK with a deficit around 10 per cent, the level the UK last faced after the 2008 Crash then reduced during years of painful austerity.

I suppose the campaign hasn't kicked off proper yet has it? If it ever does.0 -

Edit: Although you do have Peter Mandelson in your corner by the looks of it0 -
SNP need to focus more on independence regardless of whether Scotland is allowed into the EU
They I imagine will take a leaf from the Brexit campaign and focus on clear messages based around control and autonomy.
They need to dispatch the oil debate early on saying lots of independent nations prosper without oil.0
