Try explaining to the Scottish public if you can that he's not right, and why.

    Easy.

As a region of the UK the Scots have zero control over their immigration policy, zero control over their border policy, zero control over their trade policy, zero control over their VAT and Corporate tax policy, and next to zero control over National Insurance and the vast majority of income taxation.

Even as a fully signed up member of the EU they'd have infinitely more control and sovereignty over their own affairs than they do today as a region of the UK.

For that matter - most US states within a large 'Federal' nation have more control over their own affairs than Scotland does at the moment - so even with the possibility of a European 'Federal Superstate' at some point in the future it would still result in more national level control and vastly more 'sovereignty' for Scotland than it has today.

Allegedly there is going to be an announcement from Bute house this morning, I think it will just be another wee warning to May rather than an announcement of indy ref2 but I think it will let the people of Scotland ( and the world) know things are heating up

I think it's excellent news that we're now getting more certainty from the UK and Scottish govts.
No more nonsense. Article 50 will be underway and the SNP will tell us when their referendum will be held.

As the Brexit negotiations advance we will then be able to see whether the outcome is likely to be as bad as the SNP would like it to be.
This will clearly be the first point of discussion and debate for Scots voters.
Then secondly we will get clarity on the SNP position on scotlands future economic model.

So by the time the referendum is held there really shouldn't be much left for people to decide on.

With no authority to do so :D

Setting up the ability to have another whinge when she's told not until after Brexit is concluded.

    Game on indeed.
Without a mandate and without authority.

At least when Nasty Sturgeon has lost her chance (which is more than possible) that puts paid to cries for independence for at least a generation, if not more.

    The woman is a fool.
And this has proven that beyond doubt.

No bother, Scotland must do as she see's fit. I supported Indy last time round, glad to see you've come round to my view. Scotty socialist heaven awaits the worlds migrants.

Go for it, don't ask Mrs May's permission, get some steel and demand a referendum.

So no respect for the result less than 3 years ago, with which a 'Yes' vote would have had Scotland outside the EU anyway.

May should dismiss this and take the heat for a few years. Fighting this and the negotiations at the same time is a ridiculous idea.
