Can we just get on with it.

The middle classes are turning against Westminster over Brexit. Significant numbers of formerly No voters are now Yes. If Sturgeon can get the fisherfolk back onside with EEA instead of EU it'll be a bigger margin for Indy than the EuRef was for Brexit.

The Maybot is being seen as increasingly arrogant and any moves to block Indyref2 will only push many undecided voters towards Indy.

    Time to call it.

    Let the Mayhem begin.... ;)

But Hamish you call the Nationalists the "measles of mankind".

    You have sold your soul.

It was one link to a relevant point. There were plenty more to choose from, that was just the first that came up. But the Daily Record is far from an SNP PR machine. 'Jittery May' has a certain truthiness about it though.

Stop clutching at straws. Appears that May isn't playing Sturgeons game. That's the real issue for you. Anything you get get your hands on to get a fix. While everybody else sits and waits for the real battle to commence. If it ever does.......

Has Sadiq Khan lost the plot? why on earth would you portray nearly half of the Scottish electorate as being racist? I just don't understand the logic behind this - everyone will be talking about this and not Kezia's speech, while alienating the very voters who left labour post 2014 seems very illogical. The tories already have the unionist vote and KD sounded as if she wanted to go for the middle ground with federalism and appeal to yes and no voters.

Anas Sarwar seems fully supportive, as with all things Scottish labour, I suspect this is more about a power struggle behind the scenes than anything else.

He didn't do that though did he!

    What he did say was:-
.......warning that nationalism can be as divisive as racism and religious bigotry.

    Which is probably fairly accurate.

There's no difference between those who try to divide us on the basis of whether we're English or Scottish and those who try to divide us on the basis of our background, race or religion

I would agree with his comments if he were referring to an extreme party which wanted Scotland to be only for those born here, but of course he is talking about Yes voters and I find his comments offensive.

Regardless of whether you agree or not though, can we not discuss the fact that this is yet another suicidal tactic by Scottish Labour? What are they trying to achieve?

    You need a dictionary....

Nationalism obviously can be racism, (in the true sense of the word), but not necessarily prejudiced as is the more modern commonly accepted understanding of the word, (racism).

    Glad to help.

It has to be a possibility.

After all, how else can we explain some blithering idiot advancing this "nuclear dissolve Holyrood" option, when it's perfectly clear that the SNP can't just dissolve Holyrood on a whim?

It has to be some kind of wind-up. :rotfl:

The belief that all members of each race possess characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.

    There you go; no charge!

Of course he is talking about YES voters!

No one else is trying to inflict another divisive and economically damaging referendum on Scotland.

The irony of it all is that is YES votres who would say they loved Scotland; without having the insight to realise the consequences of their aims.
    Sadly frustrating.

    You're offended?

Course you are, expected nothing else.
  • The vote was not to leave the EU but cling on to a few bits or maybe go the way of Norway and pay in when they get nothing out. The vote was to LEAVE the EU, anything else was assumption, and you should not assume anything.
Yes, it was a bit misguided for Scottish farmers and fishermen to take folks like Gove seriously in the run up to the vote when he was promising all sorts of Norway style trading. More fool them I suppose, still at least if there's a second referendum they'll get the chance to rectify their being so naive when it comes to Tory promises.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?
