So your saying that the Scottish government should ignore the democratically chosen decision made by the people of Scotland ... They are looking out for the interests of their electorate ... shame on them0 -
Yes and no .. some say they have changed their mind other 's say they want out the EU ... even had one say Scotland is becoming too left wing for him ... I can see that point to be fair, the right wing of Scotland don't seem to be represented by the Yes movement
It's a strange status to have ( as we've already discussed ) but it does seem to be one that the likes of Jim Sillars and other Yes voters share. I can only assume that a fair number of them are older SNP fundamentalists like Jim. Full on all consuming/no EU. Independence or nothing and were even against devolution due to the fact it wasn't independence. Some of the younger ones I would guess are just a bit bored by it all and not political anoraks following every twist and turn like some of us here do.
Who knows.
The below 11% and the 8% here are all to play for in the next 18 months or so.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
Yes the anti EU are older generation SNP
The people that wanted right wing representation are young
And the ones that didn't really have any reason were more 30-40ish I hadn't thought about it too much but yeah age appears to be a factor with the Yes to No support that I know personally0 -

Not because of the economic data?
think I would more likely abstain, don't want to be like Scots rugby fans at murrayfield who sing about becoming a nation again but were mostly in the no corner 3 years ago,I would feel two faced.I have a deep burning indifference0 -

So you can leave that nonsense to the side.
Explain this then

No. I am saying that as a region of the UK they should actually look out for the interests of the UK and should not ignore the democratic decisions of the WHOLE of the UK.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Oh they respect the decision made by the rest of the UK . They do however work for the Scottish people so their job is to carry out the wishes of the Scottish ... weird that0 -

How are the Scottish government going to make the UK stay in the EU?
Since the question was whether or not Scots wanted the UK to leave or remain. It said nothing about Scotland.
62% of Scots want the UK to remain in the EU.
Not 62% of Scots want Scotland to remain in the EU.
That's the real result of the referendum in Scotland, not this made up crap by Sturgeon about Scotland's desire to go it alone in the EU. Shes such a liar.0 -
Fortunately they have now been told by the Supreme Court that it is not a devolved matter and Holyrood cannot have the last say.
They tried to get a ruling that Holyrood would have to give their consent to the triggering of Article 50 (another attempt at a veto in spite of what Shakey says). Fortunately the court agreed that foreign powers are reserved to Westminster.
And, if Scotland thinks they can have a say in whether the UK stay in the EU, then surely if they are ever permitted by Westminster to have another independence referendum, then surely the rest of the UK should actually be entitled to have a say in that too. After all, it affects the rest of the UK too. Of course, that would cause a problem, because Scotland would be booted out big time and Sturgeon would have nothing left to bleat about, and would actually have to get on with the job of governing, something she does not seem to understand too well. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Sure I'll explain it. She's talking about a LCM in Holyrood and states categorically that this isn't about Holyrood blocking England leaving the EU but doing what's in the best interests of Scotland.
You've misunderstood completely what she's talking about here. In other words she's talking about Holyrood/Scotland. Not blocking or any vetos on the UK.
Headlines and getting sucked in to narratives that aren't true. Don't do it !It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
