Thinking of you and your family string...0

THE political will exists to give Nicola Sturgeon more than two years to make Scotland independent,
Political will is just that will, nothing more. Trouble is politicians are like revolving doors. Over 2 years is a long time. Nothing in the EU happens quickly either. Too many parties involved in order to reach agreement.0 -
It appears that our PM is going to give a speech next week outlining the UK approach to Brexit. I imagine she will be a little more forthcoming but not so much as to spoil the suprises for our EU friends.
From what I've seen so far it seems that, indeed, the approach will be more to do with offering the EU a chance to entice a new market to open its trade doors than the UK begging to hold onto a few bits of the current membership.--- in effect reversing the roles of supplicant and benefactor. Not entirely correct of course, but such lateral thinking can be useful. The EU can no longer assume that they will retain a substantial UK contribution to their 2019 budget. EU austerity beckons.
I would be slightly surprised for her to expose all her Scotland-relevant cards but she may decide to spike Sturgeon's guns early rather than during her Article 50 prnouncement. We will see.
Edit: I forgot, I should have inserted IMHOUnion, not Disunion

Thank you, Hamish, for your flash news from last July informing us of the blindingly obvious that if that were Scotland to be an Independent country then it would be able to join the EU.
There are just a few hurdles on the way to eventually membership though as you have explained many times.Union, not Disunion

Indeed.
But none are insurmountable.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

indeed so; if Greece can become a member then I'm sure the EU will welcome net contributions from an iscotland0 -

Of course not, over time - 6 to 10 years maybe. the SNP would have it that there would be a seamless, instantaneous, process. If I was, god forbid) on the dark side I would wish for a longer period before being swallowed up by the US of E.Union, not Disunion

Contributions are not an issue.
The UK gets back 10 times or more in economic benefit from single market membership compared to what it pays in.
I'll happily give you £1000 for £10,000 of your stuff in return.
And I even promise not to moan, whine and complain about how you spend the grand I give you.
When would you like to start?:D“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
