What I said has nothing to do with being for Trump. I think he's a bad candidate. Hillary is worse though. What astonishes me is part of the world ignores the bad people like Hillary do, because to them they hold the 'correct' ideas. Integrity no longer appears to matter. Trump may be all the things people claim him to be, but that still pales into comparison against Hillary.

Like some kind of delusion disease. Where transgressions don't matter, what you do doesn't matter as long as you say the right things.

Sturgeon is nothing like as bad as Hilary Clinton. In fact she's done rather well in that she's managed to make herself into an Alex Salmond that English people don't hate.

I hope when Scotland is independent it still has a level headed, socially democratic leader like Nicola to face down whichever bunch of self serving, old school tie, venal windbags the Tory shires have placed in government in England, Wales and NI.

    Sure, you keep thinking that.

How someone who is intentionally divisive isn't on par with another who is intentionally crooked. There are more on that list who need to be removed from public life than should stay. She's on the list that should be removed.

I don't know all of them but of those I do it reads like a most wanted list for those who are sick of useless, lying, so called "liberal" bureaucrats. And the reasons, my God, this should be classified as fake news.

The UN and such like are a laughing stock, nobody cares what these pompous stage strutting buffoons think anymore. I completely tune out to them - people like Mr Moon over and again 'talking in the strongest possible terms' - what an utter buffoon, over paid, totally naïve, a non entity

    Things have changed.

The new world of hard assssed practical foreign dealings has arrived thank goodness. The days of tip-toeing round the Ambassadors ball are finished for the most part

I love the way the smug cosy diplomatic liberal consensus is all in a flap and decrying the change as great chunks of plaster land in their dinner plates.

Out of time liberals assert the US must deal politely and carefully with China, that they must not be upset or they will harm the US economically

Utter nonsense, the US needs next to nothing from China. Cheap knickers can be made anywhere. The US could default on all that debt China holds - China has far more to loose.

It's soldiers are ineffectual - as demonstrated last year in joint exercises - British troops and Officers reported the Chinese troops had no autonomy and collapsed as soon as they had no line of command instructing them. This I would think is to do with their subservient culture where one learns by rote

I do wish liberals would get with the programme.

@Conrad - that post of yours and the one following seems to be from a "Libertarian (*) viewpoint but not really relevant to Scotland (in a polite sense that is) and fish.

I'm not of the Libertarian persuasion but recognise it as a widely held view in some parts. Worth another, different, thread perhaps.

(*) - Libertaria - I'm using the American use of the term. See here:
    https://www.lp.org/platform/
Not to be confused with "Liberal" or "liberal"
    Union, not Disunion

I have a Right Wing and a Left Wing.
It's the only way to fly straight.

The European Commission is to be appointed as the chief negotiator with the UK over Brexit, under a draft deal to be discussed by 27 EU leaders tomorrow. It represents a key victory for Jean-Claude Juncker's Commission in taking control of negotiations, once a mandate is agreed.

It appears to be designed to prevent British negotiators from trying to exploit divisions among different member states of the EU by approaching countries individually.

On 14th of December 2016, Centre Maurits Coppieters will honor Mr Alex Salmond (former First Minister of Scotland and current Scottish National Party Member of Parliament and International Affairs Spokesperson) as the first recipient of the Coppieters Awards at an official award ceremony in Brussels.

With this award, Coppieters foundation will recognize Mr Salmond’s dedication and advocacy for Scotland’s right to redefine its political future among a European family of nations. His contribution to advancing Scotland’s democratic case for devolution and independence has re-energised the people of Scotland, Europe and beyond.

No it was Junker taking control of Brexit negotiations, and meeting Salmond to discuss Scotland on the same day. Not sure what it all means... but it'll be difficult for The Express to headline it as a SLAP DOWN, or that Salmond has been RIPPED APART. Which they kind of, and not in the best of taste, like to keep saying about Sturgeon.

The award was nice. Their first ever.
