I would also like to say that I bet there are few people here on the British Isles who don't have a bit of Scottish DNA. I have English, Irish and Scottish - my OH has English and Welsh- our kids therefore have the full monty - what is this crap - we're all British !!!!!!

You have my deepest sympathy - Scottish people need to stop voting SNP - otherwise they will be doing a referendum annually!

Less than half do....problem is the anti SNP vote is split 3 ways.

I think the novelty is wearing off though, people are savvy enough to know when they are being sold a lie.

Watch them bomb at the next election.:rotfl:

Seriously nearly everyone has a bit of Scottish DNA here in England - we're all Scottish! Stop hating on us :D:D

    Most dont :)

Majority of Scots are happy to regard themselves as British; for me British a very big first, Scottish second.

Most Scots are happy with democracy, (accepting referenda results etc).

Not surprised you guys get a skewed perspective on the political climate up here when you read threads like this !!

I know most of the nonsense posted by the clowns is patently laughable but it does make my blood boil that vulnerable people are taken in by some of this stuff.

Reality is that any iScotland would be a must more austere country than we have now, and who suffers most....not Sturgeon and her like that's for sure!

    Thanks for your support. :)

Mollycat most of us English would be hard pushed not to find a Scottish branch in our tree - I really want to do a Scotland holiday and i get put off by Nicola and the like - which is really sad as i have fond memories of holidaying in Scotland as a child.

Tricky, a huge proportion of Scots regard ourselves as British and have no truck with the Indy movement.

I know it's probably difficulty for you to get a proper perspective not living here, but please remember that neither Sturgeon nor the 3 or 4 clowns who post here regularly speak for Scotland.

I don't post on the the thread anymore but have dipped back in this once to support the likes of yourself and .string...keep up the good work :).

It's a vain hope to expose the inconsistencies in the argument for independence and that they may change their minds. I truly wish we all felt British, but if you don't and you want independence then how can you also expect to remain a British citizen. That's so nuts.

I know it's so strange isn't it ... we all share the same dna ... yet some of us hate immigrants and want to control other people lives as if we're better than them ... and let's not even consider the possibility that they may want to have the government that they vote for every single time or even decide how much tax to charge certain parts of the economy

    Bizzare indeed

I am VERY proud to say I am a scot.

I would never vote for independance because I am a very sensible scottish person.

I do not wish my part of the country to become bankrupt.

My personal view is that Sturgeon just likes to hear her own voice. She has no respect for the people of Scotland who disagree with her views.

Scotland is a great holiday destination ... apart from the weather and the midges ... I took my first holiday in Scotland this year and had the best holiday ever ( and I've had some amazing holidays ... I recognise and am great full for the fact I can afford them )

I never bumped into Nicola Sturgeon once ... or her like ... although I admit I am not fully aware of what her like actually is

    Come to Scotland ... or don't ... it's your life ... it's your choice

I loved it ... others may not
