Yet another Punch and Judy show. Barely worth a mention.

Is that in comparison to PMQ which is just the best thing ever ?

    Ahh that's easy.

The SNP talk a good talk on EU migration etc, but their record on actual recent numbers is woeful.

They are in no position to lecture the rest of the UK on the topic.
Immigration is reserved. The SNP are desperate to get control of it for Scotland but alas, as ever when it went to the vote in Westminster last year... nope.

There was a lot of talk back during the last referendum about Scotland having an 'aging population'. Current UK policies aren't right for Scotland going forward and most of the political parties up here know this full well.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

If the SNP subsample on that is the same as in all full UK polls then it's likely to consist of a very small sample. I'll be watching for the datasets with interest.

Thank for posting. I missed it today but twitter and the media commentary have all said the same as you. Davidson had a terrible time of it.

Neither did The National nor the Daily Record miss and hit the wa' either today. :eek:Surprised at the Daily Record and hope they continue on this new road ( probably a false dawn again though )..

James Kelly and Lesley Riddoch both 100% convinced that the Tories have made an second independence referendum call inevitable.
Today, we've learned in concrete terms what the consequences of that will be for real people. A study by the Fraser of Allander Institute estimates that Theresa May's hard Brexit will wipe £8bn from the Scottish economy within ten years, reduce wages by £2,000 per person, and destroy up to 80,000 jobs. Even the softest possible Brexit would only be a case of damage limitation, with up to 30,000 jobs being lost...

Those horrifying numbers, together with the revelations of the Tory conference, bring an extended summer of delusion to an abrupt end for unionist commentators. With the sun still shining, with Team GB enjoying a gold rush, and with support for independence slipping back to pre-June levels (i.e. "only" 47% or 48%), there was an increasing tendency to talk about Brexit as if it was just the latest failed separatist wheeze. The difference between "membership" of the single market and "access" to it was a theological point that was of no interest or relevance to the person on the street. Nothing had changed, and nothing much was going to change..

...It turns out that "respect" and "unity" are alien concepts for May, and consequently a second vote on Scottish independence is now near-inevitable. No-one can say for sure that Sturgeon will win it, but make no mistake – she'll be fighting it on much friendlier terrain than the first.

I don't know how things will pan out. But I agree 100% on those unionist commentators. They've been completely fooling themselves for the last three months waxing lyrical about Norway options and Scottish reps sitting in on Brexit talks. All adamant that May becoming PM instead of Johnson made a soft Brexit more likely.. Scotland would hardly notice.

Last few days have been a massive wake up call.

Aye i have to admit a few times over the weekend I choked on my popcorn, it's getting beyond funny now and into scary territory

I agree with Lesley ( well I am a fan) another indy ref is now inevitable, I think even Kez will possibly once again review her position, to campaign with the Tories against indy would not serve her party well

The anger in Nicola today was quite something, Swinney was excellent to watch as well ... and I love watching Christine Graham as well ... a politician I greatly admire

Think Christina McKelivie''s anger was boiling over also, she is quite an animated politician ... good to watch talking

I guess you agree with the vile McDonnell: if you are genuinely angry its OK to suggest killing your opponents even if in this situation the anger is entirely faux.

Even Robin who has been campaigning for a long time to take our time and have indy ref 2 in 5 years or so is changing sides, now that's significant for the Yessers

Once people are in the UK they are free to move about. They might be 'reserved' migrants, even introverts, but they are still mobile. They could ask about and discover that National Express still travel to Glasgow.

But it seems they prefer the bright lights of London and the green fields of East Anglia, over Scotland.

Even some of the Syrian refugees have been questioning their placement; some of those who arrived in Bute quoted as saying "We thought we were going to London or Manchester."

Sheesh...it's coming to something when Manchester is being considered!

The only view on UK immigration the SNP have is from one of those observatories with a decent telescope, pointed at London.
