Stop kidding yourself that this leaves Sturgeon in a tricky position whatsoever. Her only tricky position is the timing of the next independence ref.
why aren't the people of scotland allowed to know what currency they would use if Iscotland occurred, or who would be the lender of last resort for scottish banks (assuming there are any) or who would set Scottish bank rates or who would fund scootich government debts : 30 years to think about it and still no answers
brexit only a couple of months and not doing bad.0 -

Yaay ! Thumbs up all round of the massive progress made so far.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

Would that abuse not put you in the same category as that meme you posted?

Well apart from the fact there's been absolutely no move whatsoever to leave the EU as yet and nothing to indicate it will ever happen. No one even has the slightest idea what they voted for when they put a cross in the Leave box. Including you.

Scot's don't need to know about what their currency will be BUT we must all know what the UK is planning regarding Brexit?
Well, as it clearly says above: "tell you when we're ready".
Which will help the OP tremendously since firm ideas regarding proposed Scottish independence are so forthcoming, eh?0 -

On occasion recently when I have been working night shifts (fortunately not too frequently nowadays) our granddaughter of similar age insists upon the same viewing habits.
I reckon I could quote most of the film, word for word, in my sleep - and I won't even mention the songs!0 -

May and co aren't even letting Westminster into what's going on with EU talks, nor the UK populous who voted recently. Let's not pretend that the Scottish govt will be any more informed than anyone else.

I read what you wrote but not that article because my browser could not open it. I doubt whether the author ever did a serious negotiation in their life, unless it all comes down to promoting a certain political line or sexing up the paper.
In any negotiations one keeps cards tightly to one's chest and if there is a reason for some sort of disclosure it's normally because its already a done deal or there is some sort of misdirection intended.
The moans from parties, from MPs from Newspapers don't find ny sympathy with me at all.
... and no, I don't think the Scots are any more informed than anyone else; the problem with your collective is that you only believe what you say yourselves and can't address any valid critique.
I agree with your remarks, later on, though, that the Brexit lot and no clue what they were voting for; in that context it is not surprising that it takes so ling to prepare fore Brexit. However, as for timing, as I wrote before, Article 50 is likely to be activated early in the new year, not least because it will same a whole bunch of additional negotiations which will simply add to the workload (I refer to dividing up the contribution for part of a year and negotiating what part of the contribution comes back to the UK and what happens to common projects and so-forth).
As for Sturgeon, yes she is in a tricky position for the reasons I have given, and others no doubt. We shall see what she dares to do won't we.Union, not Disunion

Spain, Belgium, Italy and Romania have privately told the UK Government "they will not accept" a breakaway country joining the international club. And a senior Whitehall source revealed Hungary could also kill off the First Minister's dream of strolling seamlessly into the bloc.
Yes I know it's The Express but this is being so widely reported, & the only links so far point to either that or the Daily Star.
Meanwhile, I note that the Tories are campaigning on the streets against another referendum whilst only 200 "supporters" attend the George Square rally I mentioned earlier in this thread.
Far from the numbers expected to attend, and given "George Square has been a focal point for grass roots Yes campaigners since the 2014 poll" it does seem that support for another independence referendum is waning.

Ruth Davidson's comment:"But the truth is that, far from listening to Scotland, it is the Scottish Nationalist Party that is proving itself to be deaf to Scotland's interests."0
