    I don't know what the relevance of who the EU negotiator is since the STD plan is to announce the referendum before that negotiator has completed his task.

    The relevant question is 'will the EU guarantee immediate EU membership to Scotland while those negotiations are ongoing?'

    STD thinks yes, the rest of the world knows no.

    Lol.......It almost seems like you want to blame Sturgeon if there is no single market access. Well, blame the brexiteers. They and only they hold responsibility for this.

    Possibly Nicola will rejoice, can you blame her if it helps to fulfill her lifelong ambition to see Scotland as an independent nation?

    the only thing stopping nicola starting to fight for a new referendum is of course the voters of scotland who don't seem to be showing 60% in favour.
  • Indeed so, Tromking.
    In fact, it seems that my original thought of iScotland supporters as being "desperate" or "deluded" is too mild for some; certifiable may in fact be more appropriate. ;)
    Can it with the personal insults towards fellow posters. That's a certifiable way of getting yourself reported for being rude to fellow MSE's users.

    Either explain why you think the EU would bar Scotland's entry and send a strong message saying so by appointing a....well, pro-Scotland negotiator regarding Article 50 or don't. But there's absolutely no need for infantile name calling.
    It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
    But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

    They won't have much of a task. Single Market/FOM or neither. Take it or leave it.

    Do you have any actual evidence for that, or are you just taking wild stabs in the dark with your own opinion ? Genuine question.

    Yes lets not forget those polls. Some of which seem to be missing out entire sections of eligible voters.

    What referendum?

    Indeed!

    A referendum not sanctioned by the UK Government, would have no legal standing and a Yes vote would not mean separation.

    On the other hand a No vote would really hurt the SNP and their fantasy.
    Union, not Disunion

    I have a Right Wing and a Left Wing.

    no need to try to convince me as I don't be able to vote

    what matters is what Nicola and the SNP elite think and at the moment they don't think thay have 60%

    then they have to decide tactics : do they tell the truth to the people of scotland or do they talk about the English NHS service : difficult one

    We already know Westminster won't sanction a second referendum, that's taken as read. Won't stop the SNP/Greens asking for it though... being refused.. independence support shooting up markedly as a consequence.. then an advisory one like the EU referendum being held anyway. Be careful what you wish for.

    Oooh I remember that being said a lot in 2014 too. Labour really bought into that concept back then.

    Are you choosing to take that comment as being directed at yourself? When I very clearly said " for some "; NOT "for some on here" or "for some on this thread".
    I wonder why?

    Either explain why you think the EU would bar Scotland's entry - see earlier posts in this thread; there are enough of them explaining very clearly why - and send a strong message saying so by appointing a....well, pro-Scotland negotiator regarding Article 50 or don't. But there's absolutely no need for infantile name calling.
    Your wording regards "fellow posters":
    "desperation" in #2752 (I used "desperate");
    "wishful thinking" in #2738 (I used "delusional");
    and a really nice one in #2681 with "
    Don't talk crap." Is that better than "certifiable" then?

    Heh, I must really have hit a sore spot.
    The last resort, eh?
    If you can't win an argument by debate ..........
    Perhaps you may wish to consider the phrase beginning "people in glass houses .... ".
