Can I just alert everybody that the creepiest posts here are the weird ethnic ones where people obsess about people's origins; hey you're born inside/outside Scotland then moved to inside/outside Scotland so your comments don't count.

Not sure this thread's ethnic/birthplace obsession's symmetrical. All right-thinking people would prefer it to be non-existent:whistle:

We don't tolerate that kind of ethnic enquiry here. There are probably plenty of more relevant websites for that in the wider web.

I'm sure they're very welcoming for ethnically-obsessed morons.

    This website isn't.

If you don't like it then it might help if you don't try to discuss a country without being considerate of that country's native-born inhabitants. ;)

You're completely ignoring that there are many on here who - despite their protestations to the contrary and like your jibes - have no interest whatsoever in the wellbeing of Scotland and Scots from their posts.
It looks far too much like the only reason for their posting is to cause disagreement and disruption.

Look at the responses to Mollycat who IS a Scot to see how often she is berated and even ridiculed by these supposed Scots pro-indy types in here - never mind that her views support the majority; never mind the truth.
That's the trouble with an "open" forum, posters can be (and are) from anywhere and despite your feeble protestations that matters.
You've only got to see the squawking about interference from Russia in recent times to know that.

If I lived in (say) France for four decades that still would not make me French - unless I fully adopted France as my chosen nationality and embraced as much of the culture and beliefs as a French-born native citizen.
When these supposed Scots like Herzlos try to deny real native Scots their heritage, rights and opinions without having the slightest interest in considering them, do not then wonder at those who question both their motives and their loyalties.

Be grateful that you live in a country tolerant of your actions because in many countries such blatant interference would have consequences, often quite severe.

So instead of whinging at a native Scot objecting to non-native would-be Scots deceitfully trying to cause harm to their home country be grateful that your very obvious interference has no consequence other than having it pointed out to others.

Honestly? This sub forum used to be really good for debate, and I was keen to try and understand the other side ....
Please show me a post of yours where you have accepted the POV of somebody you disagreed with because I've seen people prove you wrong and you refused to accept the truth.
I wait for your proof that you're "keen to understand" others because TBH I see the opposite.

    Outrageous! :rotfl:

I've got a British passport, been here for 4 decades thankyouverymuch!
IIRC You've said before you're not British & you hold another passport too, I just CBA to look.

If I lived in Jamaica for four decades and held a Jamaican passport it wouldn't make me Jamaican, it would make me a Jamaican resident.

Yeah, Scottish people desperately need more Tory voting middle class English men to stand up for their right to remain part of Tory voting middle class middle England. Thank God you're here to fight for their cause

And maybe other people find the "creepiest" posts those written as if the author is some kind of forum moderator, or posts that assume everyone else has the same kind of metropolitan elite outlook as themselves.

Just sayin, it's all about opinions of course. (IMHO :) )

That little tirade is made even more ridiculous because you have no idea who I am, where I come from or my class/standing or voting history other than what I choose to reveal on here.
    :rotfl:

What a Scotland thread needs is real ethnic Scots, not external rabble-rousers; not those just out to interfere; and not those with other agenda.

It's nice of you to tell Scots what they need but here's an idea for you: instead of telling them, try asking them what they want.

Forums are about as trustworthy as other social media - i.e. not at all, because there are no checks and no consequences.

Careful, you're letting your xenophobia show ;)

As far as I can tell everyone is welcome to comment and you don't know who has an interest in Scotland.

Look at the responses to Mollycat who IS a Scot to see how often she is berated and even ridiculed by these supposed Scots pro-indy types in here - never mind that her views support the majority; never mind the truth.
As a weegie, do I have less ability to judge the mood of my home city than she does?
What I see at work, in my social circle and around town largely contradicts her claims.
Does my foreigner status mean my opinion is worth less?
When these supposed Scots like Herzlos try to deny real native Scots their heritage, rights and opinions without having the slightest interest in considering them, do not then wonder at those who question both their motives and their loyalties.

How does independence deny native Scots their heritage, rights and opinions? A lot of real Scots want independence and you seek to deny them the opportunity.
Be grateful that you live in a country tolerant of your actions because in many countries such blatant interference would have consequences, often quite severe.
How am I interfering? I am entitled to the same 1 vote as everyone else.

It's been a while, I'll admit. I've conceded where I've actually been proven wrong and accepted many points.

Yup, I could be anyone, but you (and others) choose to treat me differently because you believe me to be a foreigner.

You mean like in some kind of national, official poll? Yes please!
