It should have it's own Parliament and have it's own independence referendum, I'd be 100% behind that.
Westminster was trying to pass a motion that banned non-England MPs from voting on England only Issues, so it's got something similar. Lets also be honest here, the vast bulk of what happens in Westminster is focused around England.
I've voted for a devolved assembly for London, and would do the same for a parliament for England.
But think about this: if an English Independence Party formed and stood for Westminster on a platform of holding an independence referendum, and subsequently won a large majority of English seats, does anyone here seriously think they wouldn't automatically get it?
And doesn't that make it a union that only England can freely vote to leave?
So, what kind of an equal union is that? There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

That really isn't sustainable, much as I'm getting bored of the SNP saying the word. But it's not.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
Can I just alert everybody that the creepiest posts here are the weird ethnic ones where people obsess about people's origins; hey you're born inside/outside Scotland then moved to inside/outside Scotland so your comments don't count.
Not sure this thread's ethnic/birthplace obsession's symmetrical. All right-thinking people would prefer it to be non-existent:whistle:
We don't tolerate that kind of ethnic enquiry here. There are probably plenty of more relevant websites for that in the wider web.
I'm sure they're very welcoming for ethnically-obsessed morons.

And that’s really going to happen, isn’t it?The fascists of the future will call themselves anti-fascists.0 -

The point is that there's nothing to stop it happening, unlike for the other 3 "partners".0 -

I just take the personal attacks as evidence the poster has run out of actual arguments.0 -

This website isn't.
This site isn't, but this actual board is a magnet for right wingers to whom ethnic and class identity is their only means of measuring others' worth, and signalling their own.0 -

And what’s your excuse as one of a number of extreme lefties magnetised by it?The fascists of the future will call themselves anti-fascists.0 -

Who thought the SNP would win so many Westminster seats, again and again?
And don't forget the Tories got into power with a majority of seats outside Scotland, on a manifesto of having a referendum on the UK and Gibraltar getting out of the EU.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Honestly? This sub forum used to be really good for debate, and I was keen to try and understand the other side, as the other forum I was on was very left leaning. The other forum banned politics after Trump made American politics completely toxic. That left me with here, and the level of debate has dropped, wasting my time and hoping that if I engage with righties I'll get some debate leading to better understanding.
I should probably find something more productive to do instead.0
