    I mean, if the Tory influence drifts a bit further north . . . . :D

No doubt Scots will get another opportunity in the future but that time is not now.

The sad thing is the Tory influence doesn't have to drift north.

    What they want, gets done.

Maggie Thatcher (who I don't recall as being a great fan of Scottish independence) said that when 37th SNP MP gets voted in (at that time, Scotland was allowed 72 MPs) the government should start negotiating independence.

The hurdles have risen higher since then.

  • European flag will no longer be flown outside Holyrood after Brexit

Oh dear what a shame.............never mind.

    As it should be.
  • Yeah it probably will though. It's being challenged by the chamber. The decision was made by a small cross party committee. 3/2 vote.
Presiding Officer plain wrong in his assertion tonight that @ScotParl
Corporate Body cannot be challenged or instructed by Chamber. In December 2007 there was a successful motion from Labour , Libs & Tories which …1/2
That's from Mike Russell. I won't bother posting the whole thing. Suffice to say it'll probably be overturned and the EU flag will stay waving proudly in the wind well past 31st Jan.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?
  • this made me laugh :rotfl:

No she didn’t. It's a Nationalist lie that’s been going round for decades.

Any other historical flags the SNP would like to fly if we delve back in to their murky past? One in particular springs to mind!

Thanks to the SNP, Scotland is becoming the new Ulster.
The flying of flags will reflect grievance and a political ideology rather than democratic legitimacy.

This thread is becoming very funny, especially as nat feathers get so ruffled from facing the truth & they can't handle it.

True Scots like mollycat have got the nats well & truly sussed and their tone shows just how much it hurts them; it's really not appropriate to descend into name-calling but that's the SNP way I suppose. That and a "scattergun" approach a la Arky .......... it's hilarious when the only response is to try and use age as a form of derision. Mollycat is spot-on for saying it reflects limited ability.

    Posters here beware:
At the first hint of a reason to remove posts there are people in this thread whose finger is itching over the "report" button.
More than one of 'em too.
    ;)

So desperate are some of these indy types that they'll do anything to drown out the more-honest, average and reasonable voices of the real Scotland.
    Beware Mollycat & FranKlee.

Am I now on post #4 of telling the same story?
Come on mods/notmods, stop deleting valid comments or next time I might post say 10 at random times. I can do that and this time you will not win. Or leave be and I will reciprocate.

    Welcome, brand new poster!

You're going to have to explain this one to me, sorry.
