She is very outspoken against Donald Trump to the level of outright hostility.

I cannot stand the woman but I fully support her in this; I wish the British PM would stand up more against the "effing moron."
The result a 25% import duty on Malt Whisky which may be raised and extended to all Scotch Whisky.
    Nice work Nicola!

Utter nonsense. The tariffs were imposed as a tit for tat against the EU subsidising Airbus and imposing their own tariffs on American Bourbon whiskey.

I think we should all be proud of Nicola standing up to bullies like Trump.

The tariff applies to the whole of the EU & UK and there is a full extensive list of goods easily found online. (I couldn't post a link as I've had to make a new account)

All of Johnstone's bending over and sucking up has just made him and the UK look like Trumps b*tch.

Although no where as near as nauseating as Sturgeon's greeting of the ex _IRA leaders several years ago.

So did the Queen ? Shook Martin Mcguinness's hand ? I mean there are lots of arguements for and against Scottish independence and for disliking Nicola Sturgeon.. but this sort of discourse is total wide eyed McCarthyesque lunacy.

    Calm down a bit.

Well the No to a section 30 has been delivered. It of course won't be the end of the matter. It's gone way beyond the SNP now and it's looking pretty likely there will be one or two new independence parties formed in the next few months if there isn't sufficient advancement from the SNP going forward ( hoping to gain list seats only in Holyrood not against the SNP ).. There's a real tangible swell out there. Not sure how I feel about that, but when all's said and done the SNP were expecting a flat no. It's likely they'll have prepared for this scenario ages ago. Wait and see time.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

Sometimes when there is a vote you don't get the result you personally wanted. You might even be hurt that you were wrong about something. The result then has to be carried out, that's democracy.

At least I stick mainly to the subject at hand rather than simply snarking at other posters. I know Scottish independence scares you but it's no excuse really for the constant stream of jaw breaking yawn posts about fellow MSE posters.
I expect some slavering from the usual suspects

.. And that's just from one page. :rotfl:

Back to the subject then. Mike Russell seems to know something we don't.
We made a commitment to the people of Scotland and we intend to absolutely deliver on that” "Despite the usual badgering as to how and what ifs Michael Russell told Gary Marshall of the BBC he wasn’t going to give the UK the opportunity to debate this "
Whatever it is the SNP has planned I'm guessing it's going to be pretty immediate and radical. Nothing to lose now that all the 'gradual' options are out of play. Wonder if she'll dissolve Holyrood and call an election based on independence ? I suppose she'd better do it quick before Boris tries to shut it down.

Never have I seen someone want something so badly as Salmond wanting leave to win during the 2016 referendum result BBC show. He had an ipad with the betfair odds on it and gleefully laughed and smiled and pointed it out when leave became the favourite around 3-4am.

Here's a wake up call to those who have thrown their toys out the pram due to Brexit. The SNP and Nationalists all wanted a vote to Leave simply because they thought it might get them indy ref 2. All the bleating and hand wringing afterwards was and is just for show. Inside they were delighted at the result. Single issue party without a care in the world for anything else. Thems the truths.
