I reckon Scotland is paying more than it's fair share due to revenue appropriation (Scottish income being counted as British) and you reckon Scotland is paying less than it should (due to Barnett). I can't be bothered arguing that again because it'll go nowhere.

I'd be fully supportive of scrapping Barnett if all of Scottish revenue was recorded appropriately.

You clearly haven’t the faintest idea what you’re talking about. It’s like trying to explain quantum mechanics to a four year old.

Westminster translation- screw the WASPI women and have people work longer for their pension
Please don't bring WASPI(E) into this [STRIKE]Hertzlos[/STRIKE] Baldelectrician.
No one is being "screwed" over this - it is providing equality that has long been delayed. Those who have problems continuing to work have access to benefits, those who can continue have an opportunity to add to their SP and bring it up to / towards the NSP level.
It was a bad idea to hit the same cohort twice with the reforms, I agree, and that felt unfair (yes I am one of those affected). But my generation have been the ones bellyaching since the 1970's for equal opportunities, so it's not appropriate IMO to object to that being properly implemented.

I'm always happy to learn. Where am I wrong?
Maybe you'll convince me to become a unionist!

I'm using Remainer rather than no voter because its clearer and quicker. Sorry if that's confusing you.

Every man and his dog (except you :) ) use the terms Remain/Leave and No/Yes to identify the way people voted in the Brexit and Independence referenda respectively.

No one thinks they are interchangable, and in a thread of nearly 15000 posts, I'm pretty sure not 1 NO voter has described them as having voted "Remain" in 2014.

Still, it's an A+ for consistency though. :)

This sits well some of the bizarre thoughts you've been posting recently, (red tories, good catholics, people voting as per football team loyalties), and your newly exposed "alternative understanding" of UK wide economics.

All quite mad, all quite funny, but a million miles from credibility.

Which pretty much describes SNP policies to a tee too.
All these years further on and still no firm decision about even basics like what currency to use.

Do you mean the Rangers and Celtic fans marching together in support of independence like in the picture below.
Or is this just another inconvenient factual picture.
All it is is a useful tool for the pro-indy supporter but most Scots know better because anybody can print a banner even the SNP, it doesn't mean that those holding the banner are who the banner suggests they are.
Every Scot knows of the "old club" rivalry & that there are Celtic pubs & Rangers pubs where ne'er the two shall meet without violence, so don't be so naive.
Here's a recent clip of the real feelings between those two clubs by a few of the players themselves, that of supporters is readily available and (as I'm sure you know) far more violent.
Those south of the border are probably not aware of the true depth of the ill-feeling between the two.

So long as you accept that not only are they unaffordable unless you get handouts but that almost every other area under SNP control has failed - like education and policing.

Go on, answer the currency question.

Thought that Westminster was imposing harsh austerity. Seems as if money can be found to fund whatever the Scottish Parliament wishes.

Fair enough, I'll refer to Yes/No going forward to as to not upset your sensibilities.
Hopefully we ask the question the same way round next time :A
