You will have to explain
My belief is that Scotland gets a disproportionate amount of government revenue per capita compared to England via the Barnett formula - this is what funds the snp gimmicks like free parking etc
As an English tax payer this is not good for me
The people of Scotland should be made aware of this - without this money the snp spending would put an I Scotland into a massive deficit , with no means of printing money (being as they don’t have their own currency) this debt will quickly become crippling ... i Scotland will go bust and have to come begging to England (as occurred the last time it was independent)Left is never right but I always am.0 -

Going forward how many of those SNP voters want independence? Certainly not 100%
What remains clear the SNP still do not have a mandate for IndyRef II.
100% bang on, saved me typing it
Indy supporters, laughing on the outside, crying with grudge driven rage on the inside
For the record, a complete and utter absence of any "Independence" rhetoric in SNP literature I recieved, just a negative "lock Boris out"message, so any narrative that suggest that the SNP campaign for seperation has been endorsed is a lie.
In anycase, in a turnout of 60%, (where every single person in Scotland who wants it to be a seperate country would have participated surely?), a vote share of 45% for the SNP with most people still voting for NO orientated parties is so far away from a mandate for a 2nd referendum is laughable.
@Mistermeaner....no, people in Scotland won't be "getting on with another referendum"; what you patently fail to understand is that the majority of scottish people dont want one, appreciate the benefits of the union, and are happy with a government (of any colour) that will point blank refuse to allow one.
Despite the BBC's love in with the overexposed Ms Sturgeon and the noticable lack of the NO voting majority voice for balance, independence is further away now than it was a week ago.
Happy days indeed0 -
Well the true SNP are showing through on social media in my constituency where they failed to take the seat. Brings back memories of the abuse we received back in the 90s. They are blaming old people, incomers and the armed forces community, actually some pretty pathetic ranting going on. The constituency next door increased their Con majority, shows what the fishing community in Alex's old constituency think.0

Bet you were quite happy when the tax take from Scotland per capita was higher than England. That has only changed in the last 3-4 years.
Which other parts of the UK do you want rid of? Northern Ireland? Wales? North West? North East? They all take more than the mean.
It is all swings and roundabouts.
(Don't start me on SNP bribes but that is fight we should have up here.)0 -

This is the face of the Independence movement that needs exposed in the wider UK.
Given it doesnt fit the usual narrative re the SNP, that the wider UK media has got so spectacularly wrong (because the vast majority have no idea what it's like to live in this politically toxic environment), I doubt they'd be interested.0 -

I’d happily bin off Northern Ireland , Scotland and WalesLeft is never right but I always am.0 -
How can the SNP claim Kirkaldy and Cowdenbeath as a win when the candidate was suspended from the party ?0

I think that just indicates the kind of individual you are TBH.
Most decent people who lived in an affluent part of the country would probably appreciate their good fortune and have little problem subsidising the services provided to less well off parts of the country.
The first part of your earlier post I and the majority of Scots agree with; in terms of exposure, influence and fawning from the wider rUK establishment and media Scotland has well in excess of what is appropriate.
Ms Sturgeon's multiple appearances on Andrew Marr et al were greeted with irritation, her appearance on "Leaders Debates" alongside Corbyn/Johnston and Swinson with disbelief.
If I were english, I too would be irritated by this regional politicians overexposure and her parties constant whinging about what is a very good deal Scotland gets from the union.
Difference between us i suppose is that I can see the strategy for what it is; unable to persuade Scottish voters the "benefits" of independence, the plan is now to motivate rUK voters into a sense of annoyance, hopefully weakening their commitment to the union.
If you were the type of person that I thought deserved some friendly advice I would say, don't fall for this type of propaganda, it's designed to wind you up.
Finally, one of the things I value most about my British citizenship is that the selfish "I'm all right Jack" brigade have absolutely no input whether I keep it or not0 -
It makes sense to fully complete brexit and then have another Scottish referendum and then the Scots can have full independence.0
