I'm merely stating the obvious. Far too easy to lose sight of a much bigger picture that's evolving.0 -

Why ? using up letters so I can post0 -

You're heavy on future headwinds and the bigger picture but extremely light on detail.
Maybe it's you that's losing sight of the wood because of the trees in your quest to downplay everything brexit.0 -
Thrugelmir wrote: »So in Scotland a minority of the population voting for the SNP in a General Election equates to a vote for independence. you couldn't make it up. Politicians are shallow people these days. Undermines Nicola's authority somewhat.
incidentally what was your answer as to what on earth do the SNP have to do with an interview with the big yin ?0 -

Guess that comes from years of doing what I do. All of us hold differing views on topics depending on our level of exposure and understanding.0 -

but that doesn't answer why you believe the SNP shouldn't vote in any brexit vote0 -

Will the EU allow Scotland to cherry pick it's membership though.
Staying with the UK means we're out. The fastest rising numbers of No to Yes voters are almost exclusively from Remain voters in the EU referendum. Voting for independence at least gives a solid chance of getting back in. Staying with the UK means absolutely NO chance of it. Those in Scotland who value a good chance of EU membership will have to vote for independence in order to achieve it. That's it, a choice of which union is most important to them.
If the rumours are true and Boris is indeed intent on leaving NI in the Single Market/Customs union with a border down the Irish Sea. I expect a huge very angry backlash in Scotland. Especially from the business community. Nicola will be absolutely correct about a huge demand for another indy ref if so.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
I caught the SNP finance fella, Mackay on the BBC today. As usual he was heavy on the grievance stuff but somewhat woolly on the post independence Scottish economy plans. It seems after crucifying the Tories on the reality of the EU requiring a hard EU customs border between NI and Ireland, the thought of a similar arrangement having to be in place between an independent EU member Scotland and the rUK is to ridiculous to even think about. As per last time, the referendum if it comes will see big holes in the SNP plans for a post referendum independent Scottish economy.
I daresay we'll be seeing Joanna Cherry back in court quite soon.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

You haven't specified what these future headwinds are. You haven't specified what your differing views on the unspecified topics are. You haven't specified what it is you do that has helped form these unspecified views so that hardly illuminating.
Just the usual implication that you have a better understanding.
Is this where you tell me I should read more?0
