I thought Sturgeon’s all to apparent antipathy toward the U.K. Prime minister on the steps of Bute House was one of the most unedifying sights in British politics for years. Sturgeon was totally lacking in class and I have a feeling that although her scowls will play well with her base, it could well be the moment that defines her finally as the nasty petty nationalist she is. The optics of her performance the other day will play very badly with ordinary Scots I’m sure. Scotland is way better than this thing masquerading as their First Minister.

Well, the deafening booing and jeering was a bit distracting but after watching the clip a couple of times, it didn't look that bad.

To be fair she managed more enthusiasm than I would having to invite him into my house.

One might say that incompetent, dishonest, homophobic, racists have no business becoming Prime Minister in the first place. But of course that wouldn't apply to "Bojo". Everyone loves "Bojo". They must do, it's in his media pack.

I would quote what Johnson actually said about gay people and black people but I suspect it can't be repeated here.

The accusation that Sturgeon is merely the Queen of those in Scotland who happen to agree with her was never more apparent than on the steps of Bute House the other day. Not for nothing are people sharing on social media the disparity of welcome she gave to IRA Commander Martin McGuinness with that of her own country’s Prime Minister. Sturgeon is overplaying her hand bigly, Brexit will destroy Scottish nationalism.

I thought the FM was very gracious to the PM, certainly gave him more respect than he deserved, you could see she wasnt happy, and that's good,

Like I said, her petulant display will appeal to her base, but she demeaned the Office of First Minister of Scotland on Monday. Most reasonable Scots will recognise that fact.

Are the drugs laws the issue, if the deaths in rUK are so much less?
The health service is a devolved issue in Scotland, so treatment should be within the SNP's remit.

Nearly, but not quite. You are correct that health services are devolved, so you won't be surprised to hear that these services are not what the Scottish Government is talking about!

As I understnd it, what they want is authority to create safe consumption facilities.. and have been asking for a while now - see https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-42315599 from December 2017.

Quote from article - "The Scottish government is to seek devolution of drugs laws to allow users to take heroin safely under medical supervision."

Thnkfully, neither of my children are remotely interested in drugs. One doesn't even drink alcohol and the other only has an occasional cider, and neither smoke. However, if one of them was on heroin, you can be damn sure that I'd rather he took the drugs in a properly run facility with quality control, professional staff and harm reduction advice/help to give up on site, than hear that he was shooting up unspecified and uncontrolled garbage at three in the morning on a piece of waste ground covered in used needles and broken glass.

One thing is for sure - the approach being used at the moment does not appear to be working and the reluctance of the Home Office to allow new approaches (even as an experiment) won't help.

They all play to the media gallery, it is part of the game.

There will have been bigger crowds watching the buskers..... Heid the ba is not the issue that will make 'No' voters change their mind, in my opinion. If we can survive Thatcher then we can survive the BoJo reign. It will be down to what happens re Europe.

    Nope.
It’ll be down to the approximate 15 straight years of Scots posting a budget deficit. Scotland won’t so much be be surviving a BOJO reign as relying on him to countenance the multi billion pound bung they need to keep Scottish public services going every year.
