I thought the FM was very gracious to the PM, certainly gave him more respect than he deserved, you could see she wasnt happy, and that's good,
English nationalism is resulting in the increasing popularity of Scottish independence and the growing clamour for the re-unification of Ireland. It's almost as if some English nationalists don't want Scotland to be independent because they still want someone to blame after we've left the EU.0 -

Come to London. knife crime is rising markedly.
People here know perfectly well how this contrasts with what's happening north of the Tweed.
As for the drugs problem, we've discussed this on another thread. It was noted there are countries with much lower rates (e.g Romania) .According to the drug reporter website they seem to be edging towards decriminalisation (which Brussels seems to allow); on the other hand, Scotland can't, because Westminster doesn't allow it..There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
The accusation that Sturgeon is merely the Queen of those in Scotland who happen to agree with her was never more apparent than on the steps of Bute House the other day. Not for nothing are people sharing on social media the disparity of welcome she gave to IRA Commander Martin McGuinness with that of her own country’s Prime Minister. Sturgeon is overplaying her hand bigly, Brexit will destroy Scottish nationalism.
Whereas a bunch of MEPs from England elected to the European Parliament turning their backs on the European anthem is totally different?0 -

Spreading outwards, had some incidents here recently. Seems as if approaching teenagers in MacDonalds (and similar establishments) is the favoured way of recruiting runners. Once hooked in, difficult to leave the gangs grasp. Even had a body scanner at the Railway Station a couple of weeks ago during the day. Seems as if visitors from the smoke were expected.0 -
Tourism to Scotland from the rUK markedly down apparently.
Undoubtedly the result of the SNP's unwelcoming and consistently nasty invective.
Civic nationalism my 'arris!“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

Just to add I really ain't a fan of Sturgeon, but I was impressed with her behaviour, after the way Boris Johnson has spoken about various people including the Scots I thought she was very polite0 -
Bad week for the SNP's brand of civic nationalism. From the terrible visuals of Sturgeon's downright nasty reception for our PM to the openly anti-English xenophobic comments from a SNP Councillor. Lots of Scots on social media becoming tired of small minded Nats I notice.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0

You really can't stop thinking of Scotland and Wales as belonging to England, can you? It's just so ingrained.
Johnson isn't "our" PM going on a state visit to an uppity colony that needs to show deference or be put in its place. He's Scotland's Prime Minister as well. He's also highly unpopular and seen by many as an absolute scumbag.
The fact you see his reception by another politician as an affront to the English nation is a large reason why Nicola Sturgeon has that post in the first place.0 -
“Our PM” as in the UK’s PM Arky.
I’ll await your apology for misunderstanding my post.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0
