Can you imagine any other country where its elected leaders regularly have to grovel and scrape to some anachronistic monarchy; or where they actually want to?
another rant from txoic toastie full of hate for the ordinary people of the UK
which countries do you admire: is it ones like Switzerland that allow decision making by the people voting in a referendum?
or do you prefer the perfection of North Korea?0 -
See I saw it a different way ... I saw Sturgeon watching what has been happening to people who have made Scotland their home that may live in the EU and the worry they are going through and saw the potential of them being used as pawns and decided to let them know they are wanted in Scotland ... she has expressed this a few times now ... I don't really see anything bad in that
But then I have no problem with immigration so ....
if you have no problem with immigration, why do you have a problem with nationality?0 -
Hamish, I'm interested to know your opinion on the announced intention to change corporation tax to 15% from 20%. Do you think this will help at all? It seems that Osborne is trying to pre-empt something or other.
He's trying to pre-empt the mass exodus of businesses from the UK.
But it's nowhere near enough to prevent it.
We voted to impoverish ourselves.

That entirely depends on whether or not we leave the single market.
Per capita GDP has been rising over the last few years but will fall soon enough as the DIY Recession hits.
The recession if we leave the single market will match or exceed that of 2008.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

so a bit unclear as yet as we don't know if the EU 'leaders' will sacrifice their citizens wealthfare for a political goal (let's remember they won't be asking their citizens opinions on the matter).0 -

Again, more hyperbole.
I note your reluctance for a second time to compare and contrast the economic shock for the Scottish people of Brexit vs Independence from the rUK in the event of Brexit.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

Instead of just blind posting a link it would be much better if you could outline what the subject link was about.
Without that why would anyone waste their time clicking on it?Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind. - Albert Einstein.
