Switzerland isn't even in the EU.

Good newsEuropean parliament to keep Scotland office after Brexit
The European Parliament has decided to retain an office in Scotland after Brexit.
They must know by the end of the year Scotland will be off out of the UK.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

Doesn't this seem at odds with Nicola's claim for Scotland to be at the heart of Europe though?
I do think you need to nail the colours to the mast.
But yes, appealling to as broad a church as possible will be necessary. We're out of the EU anyway, so retaining most of the benefits will appeal to some. While hope of future rejoining will appeal to others. NEITHER will happen as part of the UK. Ruth Davidson will be stuck selling that the poor luv.The EU budget had a social cohesion fund running into hundreds of millions of Euros. The smart play from Nicola would be to try and attract some of that money for inward investment. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Salmon is fish.
You double counting again?
I think even the EU will work out that exaggeration !0 -

An independent Scotland in the EU will either have the Euro or a new currency backed by pretty much nothing (as opposed to the pound backed by BoE / gold). Countries that try and use other country's currencies like some do with the dollar are not exactly booming.
Scotland voted No in a "once in a generation" vote. You don't get to re-run just because you don't like the result. Campaign for a rejoin vote and go from there after Brexit reality bites, particularly no dealmayonnaise wrote: »If I ask for fish & chips, I don't expect to get salmon & chips. So there you have it. No they're both fish, regardless of whether from the North Sea or the fish farms harming natural fishSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Why do you think they should just ignore what the Scottish electorate voted for ? How silly. That sort of thing would see off the SNP and Greens quick smart in future votes. Soooooo, a re-run it must be.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Scotland would have to have it's own currency and central bank before joining the euro. Agreeing to join the euro is a necessity if they were to manage to rejoin the eu, although admittedly it would take a LONG time before they actually qualified to join the euro so they would have a few years to think, unless of course the eu once again decided to ignore it's own rules, as they did with places like Greece. Of course that ended really well. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
