I never read the Express so wouldn't know what it says. And I've never said that Scotland can't use the £. Of course it could but it could never be in a currency union without the agreement of the RUK government and why would they agree to that? And of course Scotland could apply to join the EU but if you think that the EU would waive their entry requirements, you are likely to be disappointed.
EU/EFTA who cares anymore, and at least it'll be up to us to choose. Not some deranged PM who's best accomplishments are kicking large cans down the road, along with the odd spot of really cringe worthy dancing. Am pretty sure a Scottish Govt of any flavour can do a lot better than that !It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
Wee Nippy by her own admittance had three meetings and two phone calls with Eck where she discussed the situation...she should have refused to do so... end of. It was a very poor choice to do so and a distinct lack of judgement on her part. Was anything recorded? If not why not? What was discussed?0

Wow.
That’s got to be the most weak-assed argument against the ‘Scottish Subsidy’ I’ve ever seen.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

The data he's talking about (which we never see in that report) is stated as referring to the period up to 1997, so certainly not before oil was found. That definitely was plundered by the English, but most of it has gone now and the reserves have become wee.
Tbh I think you lot should get on with feeling grateful for having free hospital parking and no tuition fees and stop moaning on about something that will never happen.0 -

Oh and by the way the UK IS Scotland plus England ( and Wales ). .
And Northern Ireland. The UK used to include the whole of Ireland, but chopping off 2/3 of Ireland didn't make any difference to the UK constitutionally, just a wording change from "Ireland" to "Northern Ireland".
You could similarly replace "Great Britain" with "Britain", or perhaps "England and Wales" to be more explicit, and the result would still be a union of several kingdoms. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Anybody can use the £ if there are people around who want to accept it. Lots of places use the dollar, for example, after their own currency has collapsed.
What that doesn't do is give any influence over regulating it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

If this was another political leader she would be calling for a resignation.
These women have come forward to report a crime against them that
has allegedly taken place. Meanwhile the First Minister, and a high ranking government official meet up with the Ex First minister to discuss the Governments inquiry into the allegation of sexual misconduct against the Ex First Minister.
Why were no minutes taken?Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -

Although it is quite nice at the end of the day these are all bribes.
As was freezing council tax for all those years (prior to 2017-18) and that is now starting to bite hard.0
