An absolutely shocking catalogue of accusations of deviance and abuse of women. One can only wonder how far through the nationalist movement this goes.

I caution you, ladies and gentlemen. As much as you might wish to revel, or otherwise, in the misfortunes of a certain former First Minister of Scotland, the suspect has been arrested and charged, Proceedings are now active. It would be contempt of court to pass comment on their guilt or innocence.

    Sorry about that. :)

A £100k raised via Crowdfunding to fund his previous legal case. Wonder how those disciples feel now. Betrayed I would suggest. Makes you wonder what else he may lied about previously.

The Wings Over Scotland chappie, who foments the rebellion against the hated English, from his flat in Bath, is strangely silent on this issue

Mind you, he's previously been arrested for harassing a woman as well, so maybe he's busy giving Alec advice.

Good grief, they are already starting their own "Free Alex Salmondela" movement in the comments.

I wonder what Shakey et al think of all this. It's not like them to be so quiet...

I've no idea whether Salmond is guilty or not, how much of this is internecine SNP warfare, and although it's mildly interesting to watch I don't much care about the result either way.

As someone that believes Scotland is better off as part of the UK, but that the UK is better off as part of the EU, I have no ideological leaning towards the SNP but I'd vote for Indy if that's the only way for Scotland to stay in or rejoin the EU.

Having said all that, if there's one thing I do know it's that Police Scotland have a long and proud history of charging people for sexual assault crimes they did not commit and were subsequently found entirely not guilty of.

In fact a staggering 59% of men prosecuted for rape in Scotland are subsequently found not guilty of the offence.

So statistically speaking Salmond is more likely to be innocent than guilty.
“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

So would you be a 2014 No voter who is now Yes?
