It's got vastly more potential customers in the EEA +Switzerland than it has in the UK. It'll force Scotland to get its act together, and from what I know of the Scots and their resourcefulness, they'll rise to the challenge.

You know being part of the EU doesn't matter much to the Scottish Nationalist - they just want away from England.

They didn't care so much about being part of the EU in 2014 - in fact Alex Salmond told the people of Scotland that he had got Legal Advice that said we could remain in the EU after Independence.

Aye I saw that about Billy ... Didn't he think we have just a wee pretend parliament ? does he not think nationalists are Nazi's ? Does he have a vote ? and does he have a book coming out ?

he is 4 years too late

but your right Hamish Brexit does change the Indy stance for many, many are now for it and a few have went the opposite way

it's all still to be played for.Well if we have another indyref that is

I imagine the unionists will be annoyed as they won't be able to get him to love bomb the Scot's this time round ;) and Bowie is sadly is no more, wonder who they will get Neil Oliver maybe

The tide could be turning. If the Krankies come out in favour of indy I would say it's all but inevitable.

Sad to say it. Probably health wise has no recollection of saying those things.
  • For all those Nats please remember Scotland didn't vote to remain; some did but not all.

In fact more Scots voted for Brexit (1,018,322) than were daft enough to vote for the SNP in the GE (977,569).

So please stop with your "Scotland Voted to Remain"...........no it didn't.

I'm a Nat and I certainly recognise not everyone voted remain ... I personally know a few that vote yes but also voted to leave, and I know of some that either won't vote or vote no next time because of it

but btw ... Scotland voted remain .. 62% much higher than the UK average of leave voters, and if we're expected to believe the UK voted Brexit with just over 50% of the vote then it's rather hypocritical to say Scotland didn't vote remain

    I agree.

I do wonder if the SNP ( surprisingly) throwing all their weight behind the People's Vote, is paving the way once it becomes clear the UK won't have one...for a Scottish only 'People's vote' ? A straight vote between Brexit and independence. No messing around. No endless borefest debates about GERS and a hundred other tired old 2014 soundbites ( see posts above). Here's your choice Tory Brexit v's Scottish Indy.

All those now shouting loudest about People's votes unable to retract support because they'd look like hypocritical idiots lol.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

Sounds just like the other old tired soundbites that dominate the media. Divide and rule. Rather than proactively engage in constructive debate.

On a 6% lower turnout. That leaves 1.3 million people who expressed no interest.

Remain representing nearer 40% of the electorate. Which ever way you look at it. There's no ringing endorsement for Indy. As would have been a perfect opportunity to express a personal view with no political attachment.
