If Brexit starts hitting folks in the pocket and with job losses..

Job losses are happening every day. Nothing to do with Brexit either. The lack of increase in productivity across the UK is a major concern as well. Waving magic wands of words isn't the solution either.

...Currently Scottish tax payers pay their fair share of these services with little or no employment benefit to Scotland...

No they don't. They are subsidised to the tune of £8bn a year or so by English taxpayers.
...Once independence happens then we will either use (and pay to do use) or set our own things up
If we decide to set our own things up there will be a jobs boost in Scotland (at little or no fiscal cost as we pay for these things now).

If independence happens you might have no choice. A hypothetically independent Scotland might wish to outsource services to existing UK service providers, but that would be subject to negotiation, and is bound to cost more.

Running, for example, a separate DVLA covering a population of 5.4m people is likely to cost more per capita than paying 8 point whatever % of an operation covering 65m + people. There might well be a 'jobs boost' in Inverness or wherever. But there would be a similar 'jobs boost' if Scotland decided to grow all it's own tomatoes. Economic nationalism often makes no economic sense.

P.S. I suppose that the cost of all those redundancies in Swansea would just form part of the Scexit divorce bill.:)

And yet, much smaller Northern Ireland ran its own DVLA and driver licence system without car year plates and with R plates for new drivers and renewable photocards the British mainland ended up having to adopt. And it's own regulator for pharmacy schools in parallel with the British one etc.

Pus their own two-tier parliament with a prime minister, senators and MPs.

And their own version of an "NHS".

    Patrick Grady MP!!!8207;
BREAKING: @theSNP will lead the first ever debate in @houseofcommons on the #ClaimOfRight for Scotland - asking the UK Parliament to endorse the historic concept of the sovereignty of the people, and the right of people in Scotland to decide their own future.

Nicely done. Wonder how the Tories and Labour will vote ?
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

So all of a sudden its ok for Westminster to debate what is best for Scotland?

Or else this may be an opportunity for filibuster

There is a NHS Scotland and a NHS Wales as well.

Of course Scotland can have it's own DVLA. The question is at what cost. You would have to crunch the numbers to find out. I am simply questioning the assumption that there would be an economic benefit from so doing.

Perhaps they will remember that the people of Scotland did decide their own future in 2014.

    Respect the result.:)

If Indyref 2 brings a yes vote, will there be an Indyref 3?
