Your taking my point too literally.
I'm sure you understand the point I was making.

I just put out some options that an Independent Scotland could explore.
If the government of Scotland opt that they don't want the Euro, then they have plenty other options

Not if they want to join the eu.

The requirement to join the euro has been in the accession treaties since 2004 You would be a new member so would have to join.

Since you are such a rich country you will not have problems meeting the requirement for that.

Not forgetting of course that the euro is designed to destroy all European ecomomies except for that of Germany in order to force "ever closer unity".

Right, so expressing the point that should Scotland vote for independence, afterwards the first priority would be to seek negotiations on leaving the UK. Scottish MP's would also leave Westminster and no more policies from there would be implemented by the Scottish Govt. Stating this is going to get me sectioned ?

You'd better call in the men in white coats for May then, because that's exactly what's happening now with the UK/EU.

You're just annoyed because I said that May saying No to Scottish independence wouldn't have much of an effect. Same way as the EU can't stop the UK leaving after a vote just by saying 'No you can't'. <--- You'd ignore them just admit it.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

She doesn't need to say No to independence, just No to a referendum on it.

This is pretty much the same as UDI and how do you suppose rUK would respond to that?

First thing I would do is pass legislation to cancel the Barnett formula. No right thinking Scot could disagree with that. After all, why would they vote for independence and then expect to be subsidised by the country they seceded from?

I think May can sell the case to the British public that she has rather a lot of high priorities coming up in the next couple of years; ones which affect *all* the UK.

The problem for Sturgeon is that her continually negative tone towards Westminster could be construed as acting in pure self interest and not for the Union. It won't play well down here.

But then, this is the normal modus operandi of a separatist.

Sounds just like something I read the other day from an EU official about the UK...

    Of course.

It's a war of words right now. Anti-EU populist sentiment could be a vote winner for May. It plays well with the press who usually support the Tory line.

    It's electioneering.

I've read some insulting comments on this thread, but really Thrugelmir I think you should reflect on this comment which is truly disgusting.

    Truly disgusting? Really?

    Sheltered life syndrome :rotfl:

I read as it as someone concerned about state of someone's thinking and a suggestion to focus energy on something worthwhile.

Never let an occasion where you can get the hyperbole out the box pass though, eh?

In Scotland? 62% of Scots voted to remain and I doubt May fills the rest with any confidence bar the die hard torys.
May laid low and said little when she mis-managed immigration. May said we've had enough of elections when a request for a Scottish parliament mandated referendum then decided she wanted a snap election because it suited her party which is a total disrespect to all Scots. I remember her on the BBC saying she wants to galvanise her party so she can deal with brexit without resistance. Surely local elections are for you to vote for the councilor who will serve you best locally. May seemed to have her own agenda which is disrespecting the whole reason for a local election.
May is well out of her depth in dealing with the EU.

What is May's latest "war of words" as I seem to have missed it?

I always find she says a bit then heads for cover and waits for the storm to pass.
