Been round to my house to find no progress since July.

After a panicked trawl through all the ways I had at my disposal, he emailed me quoting family health problems.

I'm not handing my notice in with the landlord tomorrow, I may well be in the flat until possibly December.

I'm caught betwen rage, humiliation and utter confusion.

I've spent a largish fortune. It should be finished by now. What do I do now?
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

Have you paid him for more than he has done, or are you more or less quits?

How much is left to be done? I mean, is it structurally sound, with just cosmetic stuff left to do?

Whatever you do, don't pay him any more money until he's finished it.

You might also want to consider sacking him and getting someone else in, but a lot depends on what's left to do and whether he owes you any money.

I would also suggest that 'family health problems' might be a euphemism for 'I had another lucrative job that I didn't want to turn down'.

There's no kitchen, bathroom and the ground floor needs to be dug out, damp proofed and relaid.

I'm going up to knock on his door.

I've paid him for work yet to be done.

    Yeah.

Hence my rage, humiliation and confusion.

The work done so far has been excellent with good quality materials. I'm wavering between gone bust or has gone off to do something more lucrative and put me on the back burner.

    I've been Money Tipped!
dekaspace Just a quick reply for now . Hopefully all will be ok . Your penguin was coming up in bits and pieces on my screen . Not sure if it's the laptop or my fingers .
Keep yourself safe . Please although you have issues with your doctor get back to see them .
When we were talking on your thread about the work training I was explaining to others how Autistic disorders can lead to over thinking and recalling all the times things went wrong in previous situations .
On your friends issues thread we were discussing how distraction to others lives masks the things you need to deal with to move forward .
I'm glad you've found this safe place where you wont be baited by those who don't understand .
I know you were under a lot of pressure due to the sudden bringing forward of the job coaching and would begin to struggle .
When you struggle you shift your focus to other things . I am not denying you are having problems with neighbours but something needs to be sorted .
Maybe the meds needs adjusting , some better support is needed or counselling to help you further .
I know I have asked before but back in June I asked if you had contacted SAMH as suggested by Pyxis on one of your threads .
Last time you replied you'd had the forms but forgot to send them back . Have you done that yet?
I hope things are ok tonight . Take care

SAMH I totally forgot about. only realised a week ago going to see if I get a chance to go in Friday as its near where my volunteer job is and pick up a form again, I can't find the one I had before despite having it in kitchen drawer.

I don't get medication, got nowhere with GPs over the years with support, at best was fantastic GP at last town who prescribed me prozac/citalopram for anxiety but it just made me switch off and when it got dark almost collapse so stopped taking it, by time I moved here I waited around a year to ask for it again and current GP said no, like I say before its the "eat well, sleep well and that will cure your low mood/energy"

I did finally ask for councelling at start of year but at first session was told it was unsuitable as I wasn't receptive enough to change, and referred to CPN who told me there was nothing wrong with me and I was just needing a good diet and sleep pattern.

It all goes back to as I don't want to self harm im seen as ok, its not that I don't think pain will make me feel anything I know that short period of pain isn't worth the long term effects.

Anyway still very ill at moment, did get minor better till I think the sleep apnea kit irritated my throat and nose as had pain all night and day after coughing constantly though did take cough mixture too which I feel made my throat drier.

At docs tomorrow, I had to miss my first 2 days of college but plan to go after doctors tomorrow as it doesn't start till 1pm.

The problem here is that I can get a good nights sleep even with this pain if I take a painkiller but if I go to doctors tomorrow and say I slept will they will assume I am healing and not prescribe anything.

When you see the Dr tomorrow tell them what you're telling us . I know it is very difficult sometimes to be listened too but you need someone to listen and act . It isn't good enough to be dismissed when you are struggling so much . Have you any contact with Autism support ? I think you need some sort of advocacy if available .
    You sound exhausted .
Sometimes my daughter writes everything down and hands it our Dr . We are lucky he's one of the good ones . Just getting stuff down and handing it over may help a little .
It's a hard one and short of you finding another GP i can't suggest much else at the moment .
Messed up has had many a struggle to access support and treatment but now has that coming .
Good idea to go in about SAMH .
I'll check back to see how you get on tomorrow and good luck at college .

Sorry if I'm missing the point but if you can get a good night's sleep by taking a painkiller, can you not just carry on doing that and not need anything else to be prescribed to help with sleep?

With regards to support for your anxiety, have you tried writing things down beforehand to take with you so that if you struggle to explain yourself in the appointment you can just wave the letter at them? Works for some people.
