Waiting for an appointment
Restricting pretty bad
Making myself eat shreddies
Other reason I'm so rargh I think. Someone with no idea who I am and what I do for my OH, who was impossible to get hold of cos she wasn't about for 3 hours has no right to judge.0 -
Head exploded
Mate saw me at the bus stop brought me home
Coffee with tramadol cold compress
Lie down for a bit then try again0 -
He's been in 12 days
I have only missed today
Can't cope with the bus
So gonna try and get hold of nurse again
That will make 2 times I have managed to speak to her in 10 times of calling.
PALS I think if RAID not done.
Might speak to ward sister to say I appreciate the thought behind her comment but guilt tripping isnt the best plan0 -

As some of you know, I have suffered from restless legs Syndrome for 40 years. At it's worst, about ten years ago, I could go for days at a time without sleep. Then a drug was licensed for it, ropinirole, which I have been on ever since. However, it is well known that after a certain time, it will stop working or make symptoms worse - usually after about five years. I have been on it for eight years and it is getting less and less effective, and I am seriously sleep deprived (although I have never got into a healthy sleep pattern).
Anyway, went to see the Doc, and had some blood tests (because RLS can be caused by an iron and/or magnesium deficiency), everything fine except a vitamin D deficiency. He has prescribed me vitamin D and melatonin.
I will need to have some different RLS drugs (there are more licensed now), but the hard bit is changing from one lot to the other.
However, the most important thing is, he has referred me to a neurologist at the Movement Disorder clinic at our local hospital and I have an appointment in July
I am expecting a result. Hope I am not disappointed!
Well. After a week of taking the vitamin D, I have had no rls symptoms for over 24 hours. Upon googling, I discover that RLS can be down to Vitamin D deficiency. We will wait and see. At the moment I have relief. Bliss.

I remember that some here are on pain controlling medication long term. I've just been diagnosed with a frozen shoulder, which is extremely painful when I move it the "wrong" way, but a dull ache most of the rest of the time. It gets a lot worse at night though (I think because in bed in the dark there's nothing to distract me from it) and on Sunday night I took huors to get to sleep and then must have woken up 20 times with it. So the GP prescribed me co-codamol. 200 of the things, despite them containing paracetamol, presumably because he said this could last another two years.
I'm terrified of opioids due to dependency worries, but that's a side issue almost as I need sleep, but was wondering if anyone knew how long they take to work so I can take one before bed in the hope of relatively uninterrupted sleep. I didn't think to ask at the time of the consultation.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
I'm still here :j I have been lurking.
I have not posted on any other threads, think it will take me a while before I am up to that again.
Messed up - I saw your post on that thread, I know you are struggling yourself, the fact you took your time to post something that really helped me means a lot. I think it is disguising the way you are being treated. I don't understand it, surely if you are given help now you will not need so much as you will do if it gets to crisis so by helping people earlier the team are saving precious resources. Once you are stable I suggest you think about writing to your MP regarding the way you have been treated, its really not acceptable.
Thank you also to others who stuck up me on that thread.

seven-day-weekend - glad you have found something that helps but I will make no further comment on vitamins to cure all :rotfl:
Mellymoo - Please try to take the time to look after yourself, I do know that is easier staid that done. I am struggling with it myself. How about you post every day one small thing you are going to do for yourself, doesn't have to be much take a bath for example, go for a short walk.0 -
iammumtoone - sorry that I didn't support you on your thread. I just wanted to clarify that that was because I hadn't seen it!
I don't often read many other threads on this board. So don't think that I was reading and not posting.... (and I can only see deleted threads on my 'own' boards, so can't tell you what's happened).
Very sorry to hear that people are experiencing such dire MH services in their areas. I bet Mind don't know that the local statutory services are just 'dumping' people on them - or rather, I expect they DO know, but I doubt they are being paid (properly, if at all) for providing replacement services.Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
iammumtoone - It looks like that thread has now been deleted (presumably due to the number of reports received about that poster's behaviour). I wonder which vitamins someone can take to stop them being preachy and overbearing?
If vitamins turns you into that kind of poster I think I'll eat junk food forever :rotfl::rotfl:
On a happy note - he's been PPR'ed :j
