Good to see you melly. I know that spring isn't always a great time of year for you but I hope you and yours are getting by.

Gitdog has an operation tomorrow to shorten his canines - while being slightly concerned about what else they may find, I can't help but think that shorter and blunter lethal weapons can only be a good thing.
I was thinking about welly the other day, so if you're still reading, hellooo there.

That's a shame melly - I was kind of hoping things might have got a little better for you.

Vet reckons Gitdog may have been in pain for years. We are about to find out whether a pain free Gitdog is less stressed and calmer or happy and even more exuberant.

Found this today on tinternet which I quite liked about MH and what's realistic to achieve.

thank you waves for your advice! yes I do mean it's an internal cold to the bone..I worry about my bones and steroids as i already have osteoporosis and arthritis.. I've been getting excruciating cramps in my calves for months but the docs wrote it off as nothing.. it makes sense now it's due to low salt/dehydration! I thought it could be because my calcium is low. I get very dizzy at the mo, especially when i stand up., that might be the addisons too, or lack of salt and low blood pressure.. salted popcorn is a great idea and kale chips! I never eat crispts but the last few months, I've had to have a couple of small packs a day.. are bodies are so clever at telling us what we need! If there's anything else you can think of, that would be great, I feel less scared having more info.

Pertinent, do you have a deposit for a rented flat? also can you get on the council waiting list? As we call know, social housing is in short supply, I'm Still waiting, but it might you feel more in control to be looking at your options. Your mum should not be entering your room without knocking. could you get a lock on your door?
Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE :)

I can sympathise with the lack of privacy. Some years ago I moved back to parent's after having my own place for a few years and she never got the hang of not waltzing into my room whenever she felt like it.
Plus she was a lark and I'm an owl and she thought nothing of coming into my room at 9am, throwing the curtains open and telling me to get up. I could never convince her I was awake for the same number of hours but at different times. They just can't seem to help themselves, however cross you get.
Are you on the housing list at all? Many councils have a single system for both council and housing association properties. As a single person, you're right that you'll probably be bottom of the list for now. But being on the list for longer gives you more eligibility if things change, so nothing to lose for whacking your name down.

(((penitent))) sometimes a bit of a whinge/vent/rant does you the world of good. If some ideas or suggestions come out of it, even better. If not, just enjoy getting things off your chest and knowing that we're all rooting for you x.

Including today, I have 6 working days left (one of those at home). I have zero motivation, plus am tired and hormonal..... not a good combination. The chances of actually getting anything done today are pretty slim :D

(((code))) thinking of you my lovely xx.

I signed up with an online pharmaceutical company for getting my prescription delivered to my house. There were awful teething problems but now it seems to be running very smoothly and is a lot less hassle

Penitent, I whine all the time. Please do the same, it helps!

Melly! Hello there, lovely to see you!

Thinking of Gitdog too! Let us know how he is elsien!

Don't be scared of Addison's Faerie, it really isn't that bad. It can be very uncomfortable especially in hot months which is why I whine every summer but it isn't dangerous unless your body goes into shock after something like a car crash. Even then you just need a steroid supplement and a saline IV to add extra salt and water quickly. There is no reason for you to have a crisis though unless you often do extreme things that send your body into shock or run marathons and sweat all of your salt and fluid out. I have never had one in 13 years.

There are lots of symptoms, mostly related to dehydration and low salt- cramps, nausea, dizziness, agitation, depression, exhaustion, uncontrolled body temperature, confusion but as soon as the correct dose of steroid is established most of these will go. Believe me, the difference is amazing once everything is stabilised, The steroids shouldn't harm you because we take them in the same way we take extra thyroid hormone? It replaces what our body cannot produce rather than being an extra medicine. You will be fine once you get used to it, just listen to your body and give it salt and water when it craves it.

Put it this way, just as I'm reading the sheet telling me to give him a soft diet, he rampages past chomping on his bone. He was not planning to let it go under any circumstances. And he's just tried to eat through my jeans for his treats with his best feed me face. Just my luck that Gitdog gets the painkiller that makes him hyper. So far, so normal!
