  • Techy types, can you recommend me a gaming laptop? Am thinking I might be more likely to save if I have a target ;)

(I only want to play LoL, that kind of game, and some old pointy-clickys so it has to be good be not amazing haha!)

    Hope everyone is well :)

  • Embarrassingly, I want a laptop simply so I can play while snuggled up on the sofa haha! Our gaming room is a bit crowded.

I pretty much don't game any more, but I like the idea of a "gaming room" :D

I'm way out of touch with hardware and only ever use a desktop when I was spenging half my waking life playing everyquest, so can't help on laptops I'm afraid - seems that lambyr is way more up to date in that area than me. Only computer game I play now is an asynchronous, browser based one, even the small amount of combat in it is asynchronous and turn based as well, but it's built on silverlight so needs a Windows PC or laptop. What it doesn't need is any CPU or GPU power.

Tried Entropia, played for a weekend, was never really tempted to return. Same with D&D online and Skyrim. Tempted by Elite Dangerous (still remember buying the original Elite on cassette when it was released for my BBC Micro when I was 15 and playing it loads), but every time I think about buying it, I ask myself if I need another timesink :o.

Thats what my back bedroom is going to be turned in to. Thanks to AM.

Well games and cinema room is what he wants. As well as room to house all his TA stuff.

Looks like we will be a 2 X-box family so we can play against each other. I said to AM we need to film ourselves playing and then get a get a you tube channel :rotfl:

    Hope everyone else is good.

Have started to spring clean in the kitchen. Which is good in a way allows me to sort out any extra stuff coming in. Two loads of washing on the line. I know its blowing a gale out there. Poor gale :rotfl:sorry could not resist. At least its drying on the line.

Hugs and squishes and handshakes all round.

Everyone take care in this wind.

    Yours

    Hi Jlawson,

My first thoughts about this new girl in your life is that you're having doubts before anything has even happened, then those doubts might carry forth into any relationship you might have with her. Really, you'd have to try and understand why you feel it's too soon. I do think that oftentimes people do enter into relationships too soon and then they start comparing the person they're with and the person they've lost and that ends up ruining things.

However, that said, I'm assuming as you're a student you're probably in your early-20s? Do you know what this new girl wants? Is she looking for something serious or might she be more interested in something slow? Obviously, I don't know anything about her but she might not be ready or willing to settle down right now and would rather see how things went.

I do get the yearning for independence but even in a relationship that's possible. I'm engaged (still feels weird to say that!) and my gf and I see each other twice a week most weeks - once on a Weds night after she finishes work and then we spend Saturday together. That works for us. We both value the little free time we both get and we enjoy our time together and then at times when we spend longer together, usually when she has some time off work, then it's a bit more special because it's different.

Of course, that wouldn't work for everyone. Some people would want to spend more time with their partners but it's about finding something that works for both.

I wouldn't worry about ending up lonely full time. I used to think that'd happen to me - I have absolutely no real social life to speak of since the vast majority of my time is spent looking after my mum to the point I hardly ever get to go out. But hey, here I am.

As for your injury, you likely have a case for compensation there. Your employer should have insurance. Don't take this as legal advice, as I'm no lawyer, but might be something to look into.

I think I am just lonely in general and I'm enjoying the company of this girl. We spoke a little today and she kind of dropped a slight hint that she's into me, which it sounds like she wants to take things slow and get to know me more anyway which she was shocked when I agreed :) But you're right in saying that there's a reason behind me feeling it too soon is a fear of loneliness, I guess I just like having somebody to call mine, being close to someone but there probably is something physiological to it

I like this but it may be too stark if anyone is feeling raw (look at it on a better day, if so):

  • Hi guys, I hope you are all as ok as possible. I haven't been here for ages, I felt so awful that I had nothing in my tank to reply to people's posts.

I am getting very close now, finally to finding out what sepsis really triggered in my body.. it is pointing to Ankylosing Spondylitis aka inflammatory arthritis.. my nuclear bone scan, showed terrible inflammation and damage to my sacroiliac joints at the base of my spine , so I finally know where the inflammation is in my body, blood test results and symptoms are a fit, I just have to have a gene test and an mri on my spine. It's taken almost 6 years and so much disbelief that it was all my BPD, and I've got so ill that I can't get much iller. I was ready to give up trying any more to get them to investigate, and just let it take over. My latest gp has gone the same way as my old one, telling me to ignore all the abnormal blood tests and symptoms, it's been like the slow 5 year version of what happened to me in 2011 with such widespread medical disbelief,it's been beyond awful, especially as this was caused by the sepsis. If I ever get weller again, I am going to do everything in my power to campaign for ignorance and stigma around PD, and make dam sure that no one else loses their physical health on the backbone of such ignorance. I'm so devastated that my diagnosis could cost me so much At this stage, I just pray that there are some meds that can bring me back to health and halt the damage of the inflammation Thanks for listening guys

    hello need a catch up

Was talking to someone at work, they've got a promotion to senior sales. Doing week nights (evenings are my thing) and sundays. Happy for them but feeling a little bit sad and useless as i wish i could have gone for it myself. Sadly recent health problems mean i'm obviously not the best choice but it still hurts a bit. I know i;d probably not cope with the extra stress and responsibility and they need someone who is re;aible ad copes under stress but it depresses me to think this is as far as i'll ever get :( I hate this illness. If i didnt have it i;'d no doubt be able to work full time and have a better job. My options just feel limited atm. :(

    faerie,

Well done for not giving up. Even if you can't campaign, the people treating you will have learnt from your experience.

    MU,

You don't know what will happen in the future, so keep getting experience both at work and in managing your symptoms.

I feel like supermum today for a change. Packed littlewing off to school with home made cakes (made and iced this morning) for the cake sale.
