  • That's wonderful,Code! You are next, tea!

    Hang in there, Ginger.

I received a huge box of chocolates for Valentines Day, from Milliefleur! She really is so, so sweet. I am really touched! WaSp and I don't tend to bother much and only buy jokey little gifts, he bought me a back scratcher and I bought him some vape oils in weird flavours. We shall have a takeaway later though.

Are you sure can't remember, ono? Anything? This Rubik's Cube is driving me insane. I suddenly thought it could help with anxiety, instead I want to throw the thing across the room.

    shall be catching up asap

in the meantime i'm annoyed with the eqaulity focus group i went to. One because i turned up an hour late, hands up my fault, i lost the letter with the time on, my supervisior rang up and got told 3pm for us both, when i got there was greeted by a snarky HR person who asked if i'd even read the letter, i said yes but unfortunately i;d lost it and thought the time was confirmed with my supervisior. Then during the meeting i brought up the fact Mind have a campaign where employers can pledge to sign up to be more mental health aware, the guy basically said (though not word for word that he didn't think the company would do that as they don;t want to "encourage people" who might need reasonable adjustments  well thanks for that, you're basically saying i should never have been given a chance.

How annoying MU! I've been trying to get my company to sign up for the new Mates in Mind scheme (which aims to highlight MH issues within construction and related industries) - basically got the same response here too.

Well done for going, I hope you found something useful in it! :)

    MU,

Don't be annoyed. It's actually a good (bad) response because it will presumably get minuted anyway, which gets it read and considered anyway.

It also highlights certain prejudices which is good feedback for MIND and will help them to communicate to employers going forward.

In my experience of big business, most things have to be brought up a number of times before the big cheeses even contemplate the idea but it softens them up for when the time is right for their company.

Well done. You did what you have set out to achieve, and when normal everyday life can be quite hard, you have gone above and beyond.

That's a shame. Do you think this could be something that may pass (ie. a bad day/week/month) or is a more long-term issue?

Amazingly, I still haven't had any bright ideas about what to do when I grow up.... was thinking that it may come to me in a dream. Instead, I had a very odd dream about getting married and looking after a work experience kid who felt sick.... not that helpful really.

Spent ages looking for jobs last night and couldn't find a single thing to apply for - leading to a near panic attack at the thought of being stuck here. I'm supposed to be speaking to my boss this afternoon and I already feel sick at the thought of it.

This may be incredibly insensitive, tea, and it isn't meant to be. I wondered if you had thought about being a foster parent if you want a change of career path. Not an easy job, of course, and probably a radical change from what you have been doing but you have a lot of skills that would make you brilliant.

I hope it's something that will pass - I'm having a "nobody likes me, I don't fit in, I keep messing everything up and I'm stupid and old and fat and ridiculous" time so am hoping once something goes right all will be well.
