Code, I'm so glad you've finally got your job offer. Hopefully it will all go smoothly from here and you can resign soon.

All the the talk of baking is making me want to go home and make a cake. I've got two to do for a friend's birthday in a couple of weeks though (I'm not entirely sure how I managed to volunteer myself for making a carrot cake as well as a decorated cake...) and I'm stressing about not having enough time to do them so will end up thinking about that if I try to make something just for fun now, which will kind of spoil the fun...

You'll find something tea. Is there anything else you might like to do related to your field? Like some kind of sideways move?

I am making fairy cakes. I have no idea why, I just want to. Seemed like an excellent use of my time :rotfl:

Making cakes is always a good use of time!

A lot of the problem is that I have zero idea what I do want to do (I'm 38..... shouldn't I know this?!) The one thing I'm certain of is that I have no motivation for my current role, or profession in general. I'd like to make more of a change, but absolutely not a clue what to. I'm basically hoping that inspiration will just appear out of nowhere.... pretty sure that will work out :rotfl:.

On the plus side, I've just been sent a photo of my friend's baby modelling the blanket I made for her..... too cute

I know that feeling tea. I kind of fell into my current career path by accident, and I don't think it's what I want to spend the next 30 years doing, although it will probably end up that way. I have no idea what I really want to do.

It's ok to eat the cakes as soon as they come out of the oven for "test" purposes, yes?

So, this morning, I was late (M6), but I knew what I had to do.

Sort out filing - find files which have been reserved for me and insert letters.

Print out lists of patients to be seen this week

Copy and post letters for Gps and parents.

Except - the photocopier was only just switched on and takes about 90 minutes to warm up.

There was a 2 hour meeting which I was asked to take notes for - only handed agenda and minutes of previous meeting about half an hour before meeting.

So I did that instead. I've only just managed to get everything into envelopes.

I have a new pile of files I don't know what to do with and more stuff to do tomorrow.

Brilliant.
