I've changed the bedclothes (yay, minions) and put on the first of five washes.

Once the piles of washing are off the floor, I may even think about vacuuming.

Or I could go for a walk.

Ive got up. That is the sum total of my movement so far today.

Me too! I've managed to make some mugs of tea and a monster fry-up late breakfast / early lunch, so am feeling slightly weighed down at the moment. Need to get outside and actually do something :rotfl:

    Hello peeps :D

In regards to the dress, a nice belt in the same wine colour could pull it all together, you could use a ribbon in the colour you want?

Even adding some extra trim to the edge of the sleeves perhaps?

I've dyed heaps of stuff over the years and had to deal with certain bits not taking! I got bought some white Knicks by my ex mil once.... They were beautiful, but I don't do white underwear. So I dyed them purple...... Well the satin parts went a deep purple, & the lace went magenta.... But I loved them!!! Alas my further escapades in dying things didn't always go as well!!! :rotfl:

Thanks for the suggestions Pebbles. I'll probably just wear it to work with a cardi anyway.

I already have the fear about going back to work.

    I've got a podiatry appointment at 11.

If I were efficient, I would put a wash on, go shopping, put the washing out put another load on and go to the appointment.

I might just manage one wash.

Today I got up at 2.45 am (after failing miserably to get much sleep last night), then drove to a really horrible airport and am currently in a French office without the faintest idea what I'm doing. Have the rest of today and all of tomorrow to try and convince people that I'm auditing them whilst actually having no idea what's going on.

    Wish me luck. Big luck.

Big paycut job closes today (they added a date)... I don't think I'm in the running though.

    Bonne chance Tea.

Lambyr, well done on the grown up thing. Although I'm much, much better with money than I used to be (it'd be hard to be any worse...) I really should think about setting myself proper budgets as I know that IzHe and I waste a lot of money on things we don't need.

Could someone please send some motivation my way? I'm in work but so tired that I don't know how I'm functioning and can't be bothered even to pretend that I'm doing anything useful.
  • Good luck tea :) 2.45am is absurd, I simply would not be able to sleep knowing I had to get up at that time, and probably fall asleep at the wheel - I'd probably ask for a risk assessment to be done (even though I only know about them for motor racing circuits, rather than workplaces, I have to assume somewhere in the vast cannon of health and safety there is something about risks to employee health from work related travel).

    Parlais vous Francais?

Lambyr, that sounds very organised, and a good idea. I have a monthly spreadsheet, not so much to stop me just spending everything any more, as nowadays I'm disciplined which until decade or so ago I wasn't. I never went overdrawn but I didn't save either (there are various valid justifications for that due to relationship things, but I could have got things under control a few years before I did). It was only when I had targets I was really able to be disciplined - first get enough money to fund the costs of moving house, then once I'd moved to get to savings > mortgage. That one is still a work in progress.

A very 1st World gripe for which I apologise in advance.

A lot of beauty and hair salons, for no reason I can fathom, don't open on a Monday up here.

I go to one for a tint, shape and lift of eyebrows and eyelashes.

I got to my podiatry appointment and instead of being efficient and doing the shopping and housework, I decided to pretend to be one of those 'ladies who lunch'. I got on the phone to 'my' salon (outside town) and got the ansaphone.

I phoned another branch and they answered, only to tell me that my usual salon closes on a Monday.

So, as my eyebrows are trying to make a run for my hairline, I got them threaded at a local department store.

I am now stuck in the restaurant, with ice cubes wrapped in napkins, trying to bring the redness and swelling down. Dammit.

    And it's raining.
