Argh. You guys were right. It looks like the interview is for my old job back and not the promotion after all. I don't know about this now.

I'll point out that the person I originally spoke to about it wrote 'the [promotion] is waiting for you'. So you can see why I'd be confused

I would have thought it would make sense to go to the interview, code.

Yeah, maybe. Trouble is, there's a certain pay supplement attached to my old job that doesn't kick in for 6 months. So if they decide I have to wait 6 months, I'll effectively be taking a £10k paycut. I don't know if new job is bad enough that I want to do that.

Should I email HR and ask?

ETA :emailed them. I am actually in tears now.

Yep, might as well be clear where you all stand right at the start.
Which gives you the biggest sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach? Old job on lower pay or staying put and keeping looking?

They're equally bad options. I could have taken the paycut if they'd offered the promotion they promised. I could even deal with going back to the money I used to be on. I'm not sure I'm willing to go back for even less money than I made before, because I wasn't especially happy there either so it'd be a marginal increase in job satisfaction for much less money and a longer commute. At that point, I think I'd be better staying where I am and trying to find something else.

Haha. Don't have much faith in astrology, but this is my horoscope for today:

Carefully examine the professional opportunities around you now since you might just have the proverbial pick of the litter. A favorable Venus-Pluto aspect clarifies your needs, empowers you to eliminate wasteful distractions and urges you to focus on activities that bring you the greatest rewards. Fortunately, you're capable of looking beyond short-term issues and seeing the long-range potential that's still waiting in the distance. Patience pays off, all but guaranteeing the enduring significance of whatever you choose to undertake at this time

    Hewwo peeps!

Hugs, squishes, big mugs of tea & flowers to all that need em! :D

I Need advice please, I was very grateful to receive a voucher this week for my bday for a local beauty salon (I say local, I had to ask oh where on earth the town was...... It's right next to ours apparently.....:rotfl:

I've no idea what to get done! I've only been in a salon twice, both times to get acrylic nails (one for my wedding, one for one I was a guest at) both times they felt really tight like my own nails were pulling off, they used tips & then gel on top???

I spent my wedding night sawing at the nails to g et them off as they hurt that much (I should have realised that was a sign!!! )

As you can see, I'm a novice to this!! I'd Love to get my nails done as I always feel more feminine & happy with glitter on my nails!

Is there an option that less painful than the tips? I don't want to embarrass myself by asking in the shop!
Please be nice to all moneysavers!

Hi code, that horoscope to me sounds as though it's helping you clarify your options, which it sounds like you have??

I don't know your financial situation, but 10k is an aw full lot of money to lose, or it is to me. Money doesn't make the world go round. But it does allow you to balance off the rubbish from work with some nice things to make you smile.

I hate my job at the minute, but it's not the work I do, as I love helping the people that I do, j just hate the 'procedures we're having to follow due to management, as I feel it's stopping us really helping the people we see. But I know money wise, it's better than a lot of options out there, so case wolf better the devil etc.

    Xx
