Melly, I might copy your hair. It's very pretty. Part of me is considering donating all my hair and seeing how it grows back.

Pyxis, I missed the dress but the material looks nice. Clearly the man you married was an idiot.

Solar - the first dress is for a 15 inch waist. That's tiny!

I am snuggled on the couch with DA dog. .

    Hey guys.

I went to the presentation and it was very informative even if it was aimed at clinical staff rather than just a general talk.

We got to see equipment, saw samples of clinical 'bits', saw and felt demonstration equipment, samples our blood sugars and heard some very depressing statistics.

DIABETES PENGUIN There are children younger than 10 years old who have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.

Type 2 DM is where the pancreas can still produce insulin but the body has become resistant to it.

Type 2 DM in these children is associated with poor lifestyle, obesity, fatty liver disease, deprivation and poor education. They effectively have the bodies of fully grown adults who are in their forties and fifties.

Life prognosis after being diagnosed isn't much more than 30 years. There is a real danger of these children dying before their parents.!

The only real solution is to try and keep the children as stable as possible and put them on the list for bariatric surgery as soon as they are adults (18 years old). Appalling!
    END DIABETES PENGUIN

The ladies giving the presentation told me they were impressed with me. I made an effort to answer the questions even though I wasn't clinical staff.

I go back tomorrow afternoon to shadow one of the ladies who's going to show me part of what they do.

    I get a lie in!! :D
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

Wednesday night is training night. At the end of the session as a bit of light relief we start teaching our dogs to wipe their feet on a towel. This involves putting food inside a folded towel and the dogs being rewarded for pawing the towel with their feet. Most dogs get the gist fairly quickly. One doesn't. He is too busy taking the more direct route and eating his way through the towel to the treats below. :D
Gitdog as always employing his own unique style.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Will you be going full on wedding dress Lambyr or is that not your thing?

All this wedding dress talk is making me want to put mine on.

Elsien - I don't think DA dog would get it either. He'd just sit and stare at the towel in confusion.

Ooh that's pretty. I can't pull off halternecks because I have rugby shoulders but I love the way they look on other people.

Melly, you look gorgeous in your picture, and the hairdo really looks good.

Love dresses like that, full length but bare shoulders and arms. I know I've said it before, but it's difficult to overstate the appeal of a full length dress.

I'm convinced that had I been born female I'd always be wandering around in something in that sort of style:rotfl: Obviously I have no experience of the practicalities of such a garment, so you can all tell me not to be so silly!
